Hmm, I never associated the word "monkey" in that sense. Goku was called a monkey for having a tail... while saiyans in general are called monkeys by other aliens because... well, all humans may look like monkeys for them.

I came up with Freeza around the time of the Bubble, and the land shark was the worst person of all. So I made him the #1 land shark in the universe.

That being said, a large and powerful person looking down on many commoners and/or races with disgust and contempt isn't really unique to black people and Indians.

The idea that "Piccolo = black man" goes back to the late 90's, long before the Youtubes. Old text-based fan parodies portrayed him that way.

The only thing that ever made me think that was weeklytube show. Which really, is just a stereotypical "gangsta" impression that could be associated with any race, because I've definitely seen more white kids act like that than anyone else. Other than that, I don't really see where anyone would get the idea that he is "black" when he's clearly a green alien..

I've never seen anything in his dubs that were "gangsta". They just seemed...like joking around.
