I mean if Goku shoots a blast at you, and you are Vegeta, you have those three options depending on your ki.....I dont want to have the same three options as say Nappa or Piccolo.
The 3 options are dodge, deflect, and struggle. I don't know what other options they could possibly give you.
Rocketman wrote:How many 'unique' combos do DB characters have?
Not a lot. It's limited on uniqueness since there's 100+ characters (can't be like MK or SF). However, I'm surprised that RB2 differentiated between the characters as well as it did. I can't think of any fighter (traditional or non traditional) with a roster that big and maintaining that level of uniqueness.
How about moving Up, or Down, or Left, or Right, or teleport out of the way, or teleporting behind the character, or smacking it into the background, or any other option we have ever had besides 'sit still and hit a button prompt.

In the end the "character creator" is just an option where you can customize your characters attacks and probably outfits.

How are you all so sure it's really a true fanfic character creator?

Uh...dodging?
Besides, any other option would require you to wait for a prompt so...

I find it impossible for it to be a true creator since they didn't really have that much time.

If your talking about in regaurds to the actual series, then yeah you have a point, still it wont hurt for Spike to be creative. I know they can do it they just wont.

Welp, the character creator has pretty much clubbed my enthusiasm in the kneecaps.

So many characters, so little time. How much more creative can they get with 100+ characters in just one year?

I would understand if they had more than a year, but people expect too much from a developer who only has a year and such a budget.

I understand that. I was just mentioning a suggestion that could and probably would help them out in the future.(If theres a future at all for them with DB). I'm just saying, these new fighting mechanics would look so much more appealing if the characters had new punch and kick animations to go along with the old ones so every thing wont look stale and rehashed, which that is the exact problem that these games get bashed for time after time.

Now I'm not expecting a shit load of new fighting mechanics from Ultimate Tenkaichi, hell for all we know, what we've seen so far is probably all we'll get. As I said before I was JUST Saiyan.( 8) harr harr)

Well people could use this to create the db/z/gt characters or costumes that were never put in the game hopefully.

Namco Bandai Europe shows this as their European cover art. I don't think it's the final product though.

Note that the North American might be different.

It's not like the October is that far off at this point. Ever since they started showing cover art that it's been that one. How long before release have they revealed the final cover arts?

If this were to be Spike's final hurrah with Dragon Ball, i'd like it to be a variant of the group shot at the end of GT's 4th ending animation. I don't have much against a simple cover, though.

If there's really a character creator, I might finally buy one of Spike's post BT3 games. I know that some people apparently really dislike the idea, mainly due to online, but, to me, a character creator adds a lot of replayability. Not only to make "fanfic" characters or whatever, but to attempt to make missing characters and even crossover characters. I think this kind of thing is really fun, even if the creator is somewhat limited and attempts at recreating the characters don't end up perfect.

This DBZ game is also pretty much the first "over the top" fighting game that might have a character creator. So, saying that some other game has one doesn't really take anything from this one.

Now, I understand the two problems that people have with this:

1-The resources used for this feature.

2-Fighting online against characters with designs you dislike.

However, the first one is... Well, most of the people who seem to believe in the first one, also don't seem to enjoy Spike's games in general, so I don't see how it changes anything. For the second one... if the developers think for one second, they can easily make two different ranking modes, one for the standard cast another for custom characters. Even if they forget to include that, it was just their own incompetence, nothing to do necessarily with custom characters.

Like I said before, I enjoy this kind of feature even if the tools are limited. I've even created a lot of stuff in Mortal Kombat Armageddon's and even Samurai Warriors 3's character creators (In addition to Soul Calibur 4's, which had its own limitations too, although in general it's better than the other two).
Assuming that the Create a Character doesn't suck. Good Create a Character's are intriguing, but most of them... eh, have you played Mortal Kombat Armageddon? If a decent character creation option does come along, though, I'll use the heck out of it. If I could make a decent Gotan I'd like it.
I'd be satisfied even with something on Mortal Kombat Armageddon's level, as long as the female clothing options and basic character design aren't so badly designed.

Just as an example, here are some of the DBZ characters I created in Mortal Kombat. The results often weren't very good, but, considering the game's overall art style, I thought it was decent enough.

Well, the description which revealed it directly mentioned Creation & Customization, it also mentioned that it's possible to customize faces and model body of the character. That sounds like character creation.

If you look at any fighting games with customization options for the standard characters, like Tekken and Soul Calibur 4, they don't let people change basic features of the real cast. You can change their hair and clothing, but not their faces or body. Even in Soul Calibur's case, where there's a character creator in the same game, you still can't do that. I highly doubt they'll let people change DBZ's main cast in those ways here.

We haven't seen that much. All what has been shown so far were a couple of badly played gameplay videos that barely cracked the surface of the games full potential, demo or not.

I want: Movie villains with henchmen that were missing from RB2, better costumes (Like Goku in blue and Teen Gohan in Goku's gi finally at least...... ehm, ehm, more costumes to adult Trunks).
If GT, I want bigger roster then was in BT3, GT Vegeta, Rildo, Baby without host, GT Trunks (can be costume), Gohan (costume with his tux) and Goten and more Dragons (maybe the one morphing into lady and the Ice one will be all)...... UHH

And return of Hachihyakku, Tarble + adding Avo and Cado with proper Dark Planet stage:))
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel
PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

We all thought that too, two years ago with the first Raging Blast. a lot of us thought that we were barely seeing the core of the gameplay when all the convention footage was being passed around everywhere, we also thought that the people that were playing just sucked at the game but come to find out the controls have changed. And while the part of them(the demo players) not being used to the new mechanics may be true for Ultimate Tenkaichi, the fact still remains that once everybody did get there hands on RB we realized that it wasnt that much different from the demo footage at all and that Spike even removed some decent combos that were in Tenkaichi 3. Now hopfully your prediction is right that we havent seen all theres to the new fighting mechanics but i'm very doubtful simply because we've seen gameplay of at least six different characters and all of them consist of players who have pulled off or have tried to pull off the same one super combo which looks good when its pulled off in full but I pray that, that isn't the only new major combo.

I thought nothing of Raging Blast. Only thing that kept had me following it's early development was that it was the FIRST next-gen DBZ game. But I'm not a sucker for graphics. I knew Raging Blast 1 was dookie from the jump, hence my not purchasing it. -lolz- The gameplay was a empty shell of what BT3 did so great. I stressed that and ignored the game. Raging Blast 2, they stepped it up, not going to lie, that I could've bought but I skipped that aswell. I'm still in debate as to whether I'll buy it.... certaintly after I get Ultimate Tenkaichi though. However, with Ultimate Tenkaichi, like Spike has stressed, it's a deeper brand representation.... it SCREAMS DBZ like no other before it. Will people have their " unique " arguements ? Yes. People ALWAYS will, but that's irrelevant, my thing is will this be a great game ? I believe so. The new take on gameplay is refreshing, The aesthetic is dope, ki attacks LOOK like ki attacks, the blows are massive, battles finally has all those DBZ dynamic we'd expect both close and long range, arenas are designed faithfully better than any I've ever seen in a DBZ game, very full and lush. The only thing left is to have the complete product to experience it myself. I'm not casting no stones, doubt and animosity is a weight we shouldn't have to carry over a game.

The " perfect " DBZ game is different in all of our minds if you think about it. It can't exist. Close enough is fine. I'm not looking for perfect. I'm looking for a quality game that is fun.
