The background song in that video is very nice, it sounds so familiar.. like from one of the previous DBZ games. But it's a new song, right?
No I'm pretty sure that's the theme song of this game.

And basically what they've been using for every trailer that i can remember.
Luke Groundwalker wrote:That's quite contradictory, cause Spike themselves say that an original OST was made for the game in an interview.

I think that was just referring to that rather than the Kikuchi score.
I don't think i've seen that, so if anyone can track that down...

But if it's just a new soundtrack EVEN for the Japanese version....that's really underwhelming (specially given the last 5 Spike games). Although the use of "original japanese voiceovers and music" for a series of games that always had the voiceovers throws me in to a sense of "what the hell do they mean, then?"

There's a four-part interview on youtube with a Namco and Spike representative. When asked if the Kikuchi score was going to be in the game instead of the terrible American music (this isn't my wording, though, just the question that was asked!), they said they made a new OST for the game and that'll be the tracks used for all regions. I can't really be assed to pinpoint where it's in the interview cause it's so long, but trust me it was addressed already.

I think that was refering to the voices, since they wanted their French voices from Kai instead of the english ones (that they said they didn't like at all)
Because, if memory serves, the follow-up comment was regarding "Tag Vs" on the PSP and how we were stuck with the english cast.

(but i will check if there was anything about the music)

They already said in that interview, in fact, I think the first part, that the music is not the anime's score, but their own. Their own score is gonna be used for all versions.

Well...fuck.
They really can't help themselves at having to get something wrong, can they? (was it really part 1 of the interview, though?)

Image

Seems that the gameplay get improved with what they call "Strike Move" and "Defense Reaction".
More curious about an elaboration upon the additions than the image, which we've seen over and over again...

Freeza's models look absolutely beautiful in those images. I love this game's graphics.

I wish they kept RB1's graphics.

I like this games graphics for everything but the Super Saiyans. I wish they would have thinned out the lines in the hair, use the pale yellow like the coloring from RB1, and then have it kind of pulsate a neonish yellow color similar to RB2 (without the orange).

That, but when Super Saiyans charge up, their hair transitions to that golden color.

Ick. lol Since none of this will happen this game anyway, you can desire that if you want, but it would annoy the hell out of me. I really dislike the golden/orange color for Super Saiyan hair, so I would prefer if it stayed pale like in RB1 or Super DBZ all the time. The hair can stay the solid pale color when not powered up, but start flashing the neon-ish yellow color when aura's are a blaze'n.

Or that. I don't really care about the color, as long it's not like green or some shit.

Another thing I do love is the auras in this game.

Like SS3 Broli's hair in both costumes for RB2? Hideous...

That is one thing I'll really give them credit for this game, aside from the hair debacle, I really love almost all of the visuals I've seen. Aura's are nice and large and flair about as they should (if only they didn't disappear during attacks), the ki attacks, explosions, dust clouds (I think I've seen one so far that didn't really look good, but who knows by time it is released), battle damage, etc. It all looks better than any of the previous Spike console games IMO.

Yeah, the dust cloud when you smack your opponent down has a lot of frame rate issues, hopefully they fix that.

I really love how they got the correct Kamehameha sound in the game. It sounds sooooo much better. In fact, I really like the presentation of this game. They've really out done themselves this time around.

Oh man I still feel lost in the gameplay. Good to know the players playing the actual game say the same things as the critics.

Ugh the gameplay is such a hit or miss... I've never been this frustrated with a DBZ game before  .

Manga graphics. Nuff said.
