Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
I'm likely going to preorder Dragon Box 7 just because I know it's gonna run out fast, and then track down boxes 4 and 6.

Yeah, right now RightStuf is having a huge sell on preorders so I've preordered Dragon Ball Z Kai Part 6 and the final Dragon Box. Before, the prices are $26 and some cents for Kai and $44 and some cents for Dragon Box 7, now they're like $24 dollars and $41 dollars plus shipping which isn't bad at all.

I like to preorder from Amazon when I need to watch my finances.
Right Stuf is a bit unpredictable in terms of JUST how early they'll ship out Preorders, so sometimes it blindsides me.
Doing it Via Amazon helps.

No kidding. I didn't expect to get Dragon Box 6 like 6 weeks early. Good thing that week I had enough finances.DemonRin wrote:I like to preorder from Amazon when I need to watch my finances.

Just would like to add that DBox 5 is now also "under review" on Amazon.
I got my DBox 5 just a bit before this, and I didn't notice any serious damage/defect to the product this time. My DBox 4 from Target is also here.

Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
This whole deal with Amazon is a bit concerning, but I would like to say that in my case they remedied the problem as quickly as they possibly could. I received my DBox 5 on a Friday. I realized the first disc was scratched beyond playability and submitted a return claim on Saturday. They scheduled a UPS pickup time for my return free of charge. Not only did UPS pick up the DBox I was returning on Monday, they also left a brand new DBox 5 for me. I filed a claim, and two days later I had a new DBox in perfect condition.
Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
Well, right now Dragon Ball: Season One and Dragon Ball Z: Season Eight are also labelled as "item under review", so the Dragon Boxes are not the only sets affected by this, whatever it is. Weird.
Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
I'd like to say that the brand new Dragon Box 5 I just recently got had a dent in the back of the box. I don't feel like returning it, but who knows? Bad shipping, maybe a bad lot.
Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
Most of the DBoxes I've bought off Amazon have had something wrong with the packaging (dented box, bad glue, loose dvd, bent dvd case) but no actual damaged discs. Only boxes 3 and 5 arrived in healthy shape.
It's the bad side of shopping online; you don't get to look through all the copies available and pick the one in the best condition to buy, some employee at whatever warehouse stores the boxsets picks at random.
Then you gotta account for whoever packs and ships them.
I would've bought them from an actual, physical store, but I've never seen any DBoxes out shopping.
Orange Bricks I see, but never DBoxes.
I've actually never been much of an online shopper, but as stores cease stocking the stuff I want to buy (and I'm talking everything from clothes to books to dvd's and electronics), I've kind of been forced to adapt to buying online from various sites. I'm getting used to it, but it's still by no means my preferred method.

My Dragon Box 6 from Amazon came in mint condition, there wasn't even the slightest ding on the corner of the box.Vegeta1984 wrote:Wow even Dragon Box 6 is under review... This is really weird... Guess I'll be ordering the three boxes I need from right stuf...

Be cautious with Walmart's shipping. My Dragon Box 2 came from them (as well as my copy of the Hardened edition of black ops) damaged because they simply put it into a cheap bubble wrap manilla envelopeVegeta1984 wrote:That's just plain weird.... Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
It seems like volume 1 is out of stock on Walmart.com, too.
I've been checking for dragonboxes on Walmart.com everyday for some weeks now and all five except for volume 2 have always been in stock.. but now it looks like volume 1 disappeared from the list too.

I wonder why..

All the DBoxes appear to be in stock on Amazon again, although DBox 1 is specifically said to be "only 6 in stock."

Amazon themselves don't have 1 and 2 in stock. They are just handling the shipment themselves.KiddoCabbusses wrote:All the DBoxes appear to be in stock on Amazon again, although DBox 1 is specifically said to be "only 6 in stock."

That's not a good sign for their long term availability.

Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
So I've been using Target.com for all my Dragon Boxes. I go to purchase Box 6 and oddly, where they used to have a listing for every Dragon Box, they now only have a listing for Dragon Box 5... It's not that they're sold out, but the listings just up and disappeared.

Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
It can't be a complaint about the lack of Faulconer music because the release itself doesn't have the Faulconer music. It's like putting that note on a DVD player because people complained it doesn't play Blu-ray. People can complain all they want about what it doesn't have, but it wouldn't stop it from being released. There's probably a physical problem with the latest Dragon Boxes like broken discs or packaging. Maybe there's a problem while playing them. I don't know. But wasn't that message up for DBox 1 before? And then they started selling it again.

Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
Just a note about these "damaged" boxes I hear people are getting...
I bought my DragonBox from FUNimation directly at their booth at Otakon. I spent 50 bucks on this thing. I guess I was so aggravated with ordering it from Amazon then never getting it that I just wanted instant gratification. So I bought the thing and while I was getting rung up I was talking to one of the reps, so I didn't really notice it was dented on top until hours later. It seems there is a dent going across the upper part of the box making that part stick out a bit. I tried taking a pic but the flash always hid the dent, but I guess it becomes apparent when you compare the dented corner to the corner on the right.

I decided to go back and ask nicely if they would exchange it. But when I got there I saw they were all dented on top. I took a pic but I don't think it really comes across too well...

And yes, I did look at the bottom boxes. Those had the dents as well and all fit together like a puzzle pieces. Seems this issue is just a case of how they're being stacked in the warehouse. It's not a manufacturing error or anything like that. It's just, these are kinda delicate because of the way these boxes are made. They aren't gonna get the special attention they need during shipping and storing to prevent these dings and dents from happening. I'm guessing some online stores stack their DVDs vertical and some places store them horizontal. This is probably why when ordering from different places online, you may or may not get a dented box.

Re: Dragon Box 1 Currently Not Being Sold On Amazon.com
The only one I have that's at all imperfect is my Volume 5, which just has the left side of the box (if you're looking at it from the side that reveals the image made by the DVD books) is curved inwards a bit. Other than that, thankfully all my Dragon Boxes have been great and I ordered them all from Amazon (pre-ordered so these are the first to be released). But dented corners is one thing, but if you get the set and the plastic that holds the discs is broken or something like that, then that's a legitimate problem.
