Connection between East Kaioshin and Old Kaioshin?
Connection between East Kaioshin and Old Kaioshin?
East Kaioshin describes himself as "the youngest, and the weakest" of the Kaioshin. I can't really think of a reason why he'd be so different from his peers, except for this theory; Old Kaioshin was the original East Kaioshin, until he was trapped in the Z-Sword. After that, the present East Kaioshin had to brought in as a replacement, which would explain why he seems like a "rookie" at the time of Buu's attack. Thoughts? Has this been confirmed anywhere?

Re: Connection between East Kaioshin and Old Kaioshin?
Old Kaioshin is an East Kaioshin from 15 generations ago, so the Kaioshin we are first introduced to wasn't Old Kaioshin's direct successor.
I'd say that the East Kaioshin we know was simply born later and therefore assigned to his post much later than the other Kaioshins at the time.

Re: Connection between East Kaioshin and Old Kaioshin?
Taking the whole Shin-Jin selection process into account, it's possible that East Kaioshin was just very young and new to the job at the time, and in turn the weakest of the 5 Kaioshin as well. It's likely that his predecessor had only recently passed away, and if Kaioshin are chosen by lottery the same way that the Kaio are, then our scaredy-cat newbie may have just gotten (un)lucky.

I believe it's implied that East Kaioshin dealed with Boo himself millions of years ago, so I don't think he's really new to his position. Unless it was his predecessor that dealed with Boo...but even then he clearly remembers what Boo looks like.

He was younger and newer to his position than the other Kaioshin at the time. He definitely was the East Kaioshin when Buu absorbed or killed the rest of them.Luke Groundwalker wrote:I believe it's implied that East Kaioshin dealed with Boo himself millions of years ago, so I don't think he's really new to his position. And note that from that day on, he was basicly all by himself (plus maybe Kibito), also we dont know if 5 million years are a long time to Kaioshin or not.Bussani wrote:He was younger and newer to his position than the other Kaioshin at the time. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think their life span was 75 million years. In human terms that would make East Kaioshin a kindergardner.

Yeah I think that's based on Elder Kaioshin being trapped inside the Z sword for that amount of time. Though a new generation of Kaioshins is made every 5 million years.Kroni_Hunter wrote:I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think their life span was 75 million years. "Planet Kaishin is like a giant version of the Kaio Planets. On it is a gigantic tree, the Kaiju, and the Kaio are all born from the fruit of this tree, as Shin-jin. The population of this planet is about 80. Shin-jin are genderless, and their average life expectancy is said to be 75,000 years. The Kaioshin, however, are chosen only from among Shin-jin born from a special golden fruit that is particularly rare. Occasionally there are delinquent Shin-jin with evil hearts, and they go to be with the Makaio."dbgtFO wrote:Yeah I think that's based on Elder Kaioshin being trapped inside the Z sword for that amount of time. Elder Kaioshin was trapped in the Z Sword 75,000,00-ish years before the present story and is 15 generations the current East Kaioshin's senior. Meaning there is roughly a new generation every 5,000,000 years. At the time of the Buu Arc, East Kaioshin has been in his position for at least 5,000,000 years, as he fought Buu in his first rampage.... seeing how we aren't given a lifespan for the Kaioshin, but only Shin-jin before the the golden fruits are brought up, who knows if this is normal or not. lol
Take it as you will...
