I Want to Know More About the DBZ High Quality DX Figures...
So I got this awesome Goku figure from the High Quality DX Figures line, and now I wanna get more. I'm not really a figure guy so I don't really know much about this stuff. I mean, I'd buy figures at cons but, I just kept that stuff restricted to the den - and it's only maybe 4 figures. No matter how detailed a figure was, I just never felt right being 30 and displaying action figures in the house. But these are nice pieces and I'd feel fine displaying three or four of them.
So, I was wondering. Did I miss the boat on these? Is it still possible to pick these up for a reasonable price? I was looking for characters from the Saiyan or Freeza arc. I tried PlayAsia.com but most of them were sold out. I tried eBay but the prices were crazy. Which makes me think I answered my own question. I probably did miss the boat on these.
Also, is there a list of figures in this line somewhere? I'd like to know what my options are. Thanks!

Don't do it man! Don't get into figures. It's a trap!
I started with your exact mentality, but it's so hard to control yourself.
This is how I started out:

This is only 5 months later:

And even that isn't up to date!
If you really want to though, then just check ebay auctions from time to time. You'll eventually find an auction with a reasonable price for a figure you're looking for. And of course, keep a look out for sale threads on these boards.

What Drabaz says is so true
, its a trap!!
I started out with a small Goku figure I bought in a game/anime store, and from there it only got worse.
I also started buying a few of those HQ DX figures, and the good thing about those is that there are just to many figures to buy all of them. So on the Dragonball figures I have been able to hold back a bit. But getting hooked to One Piece was pretty painful in the wallet, because I really wanted to have the Portrait of Pirates NEO and Strong World figures.
My latest edition to my Dragonball collection is this awsome figure:

If you dont want to many figures displayed in your house, then I would really recommend this figure.
Its still in stock on most online stores, but its a bit more expensive then the average figure.

"A bit"?! Hahaha, more like 4 times more than the average figure. But it's awesome nonetheless. Mine shipped yesterday. This will be the last thing I buy in a while.Shadow-Link wrote:If you dont want to many figures displayed in your house, then I would really recommend this figure.

Oh yea, Tanooki. That's the millionth time I've said, "This will be the last thing I buy in a while." Just keep that in mind

Collecting figures is definitely a trap. I've gotten to the point where I literally have no more space to display them. So I don't really buy them anymore...
However, I'm interested in those High Quality DX figures as well. They look really nice, unlike most DB figures...

If you're TRULY looking for some awesome pieces to display, and only a few, the medicos Goku (version 1: yellow hair, version 2: clear gold hair) are incredible, as are the Ichiban figures and any DBZ statues. The statues are some of the coolest pieces I have ever seen but they are not official and kinda expensive. Get on ebay, search Dragonball Statue, and look for yourself.

Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn don't make "The Raithos" go off on this topic...
For Medicos Goku you're looking at $120+/- (including shipping).
Everywhere.
You can see it here:

andddddddd here:

The HQDX line ended (last year)? And all the nicer ones you're thinking of will cost you anywhere from $40-$70 base prices. For the more nicer ones like Majin Vegeta and SSJ4 Vegeta, prepare to go $100+ in some instances. Don't fret though it's all about searching. Search painstakingly hard, not just on ebay but other sites. I used to type in the figure I wanted into google and scope sites for a few days before buying them.
I also used bigbadtoystore to get my Gotenks SSJ3 one, I doubt they have it in stock anymore though.

Myself and a few other users discussed good places on getting DBZ figs. But yeah HQDX is going to be a tad costly no matter where you go at this point... Except for REALLY super good sites.
I also have a love affair with Ichiban Kuji prizes, although those pieces will hurt your wallet no matter where you go. I use Mandarake to get mine and there are actually quite a few on there for good prices since DBZ doesn't hold as much selling power as other venues such as One Piece or Naruto (at least in Japan anyway), you can find better prices on there as opposed to Ebay or Amazon in most instances.

Super super cheap HQDX figures for sale, and they are reliable and fast with shipping I actually managed to snag some realy nice ones from there. (Majin Vegeta)- That's all I got though hope it helps.
I've fallen into the One Piece trap myself timskip P.O.P.'s, GLM, Half Age, Figuarts Zero... zomfg!... so my collection went from one HQDX SSJ4 Gogeta to this: http://myfigurecollection.net/profile/Raithos
