I would agree, however in the movie itself when he fires it at Gohan during his little hissy-fit, you can clearly see Shenlong's "Antlers" (or whatever the hell they're supposed to be) sticking out.

I'd screencap it, but I've only got access to the BD's at the moment, and PowerDVD is being a pain and doesn't feel like letting me capture anything.

I just realized that in the Dragon Ball Kai eyecatches, Goku's Kanji is removed when they get up to the Artificial Human arc. Nice touch.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ryu and Ken's names are a play on Ryuuken (I mean, they have an attack called the ShoRyuuken, after all).
... Does Goku ever shout Chou RyuuKen (maybe when he uses it in GT)? That would just be fun to hear. ^_^

Goku's family seems to be permanently associated with the Four-Star Ball and the number four is considered to be bad luck in Japan.

I thought it's Daimao. Ever since I was a kid and first saw the opening about 10 years ago. This hurts.

I thought it was Old Daimao too. It wouldn't make sense if it was Kami, because Kami isn't evil and I've always got the feeling that the screen shows something sinister, so Old Daimao seemed to fit perfectly.. well except for the fact that he wasn't in Z.
So it does make more sense it's actually Dr. Gero. I guess the moustache is just something one wouldn't notice that easily.

I'm actually very surprised at how many people didn't notice it was Gero, especially since this version had quite a few scene changes for references to the Jinzoningen and new Super Saiyans.

I always thought it was Kami...looking at it now though, I don't really understand why.

I always thought it was Kami too since it was like his last story arc before fusing with Piccolo. I never really thought about it.

There's other stuff too, like the robot hand becoming human, I've always though of that as probably #17 or #18, but it has to be #16, or even less likely #19.

Another thing about CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA was when we see Gohan running along Shen Long, you see Yajirobe pop up, because of the original English dub with Rock the Dragon being so low quality I thought it was Raditz trying to grab Gohan... All I really saw was someone with long Dennis the Menace hair in black and brown clothes popping up with an arm pointing towards Gohan.

Why did you all think it was Kami? This guy has pupils, Kami has pure black irises

but then again when I was a kid I didnt know Saiyans were aliens, I thought Granpa Gohan was Goku´s biological grandfather, and I thought Goten´s name was Goku and that he was Gohan´s son. I figured it must be an endless circle of Goku´s and Gohan´s or somehting. (I didnt pay much attention to things as a kid)
