There is no need to "have the right programs". I use paint for all typesetting, and only bust out Photoshop if I need to redraw something. Seeing how the scans are all fairly low quality, using a simple program like Paint isn't that bad for what would inevitably be a LQ release. The current pages would require more work than would be worth the effort to make them any better...almost all the efforts I've seen attempting this have completely screwed over most of the finer details. If the scans were usable for a HQ release, I'd change my tune, but for now anyone could make an LQ version until/if we get better scans.

Well, I tried using Paint once for adding text to one my comics and it was a pain. It really is a lot more time consuming than Photoshop.

For stuff like this if you don't have/like Photoshop, I recommend Paint.NET or GIMP. Both are free and are way better than Paint. They're also easier to use than Photoshop.

Its personal opinions, but I have to disagree. lol Paint allows me easy manipulation of everything right on the screen. Text box size, placement, the text toolbar can all be played with within inches of each other if desired, while in Photoshop, it feels like I have to jump all over the window and do 15 things before I can alter what I want. Its probably personal bias from only having Paint for years and years, but it just feels easier...though for drawing, that's an entirely different story. lol

That's matter of how much are you used to working with it. I'm using it at work and it doesn't seems this bad and complicated.

I guess I should ask, is it possible there's some significance to how the way Freeza destroys the planet and his interaction with Bardock is different from how it is in the TV Special? In particular, it seems Bardock's caught in a surprise ambush of sorts, as opposed to how in the TV special his prophetic visions and Dodoria basically mouthing off everything Freeza himself said at the start about mid-way into the special drive him to try to fight Freeza's army solo and attempt to save the future.

Thanks oldboy88. :D Now I can get into the story without switching back and forth between the translation and the scans.

So, it appears that Chilled either did not recognize Freeza, or Freeza does not exist in that universe (Where are we, DBM :? ?!), or at least, Freeza did not exist at that time.

And LOL at Tsundere Bardock! "It's not like I meant to save you or anything. BAKA!!"

I'm wondering, is this actualy a sequel or a what-if... The events at the start are so different, Bardock's armor is not damaged, Zarbon and Dodoria are out there, Bardock doesn't atack Freeza, a completely different conversetion happens and Freeza uses a different attack to destroy Planet Vegeta. I'm a little bit confused :?

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

The issue of V-Jump that the special debuted in described it as a sequel, but there do seem to have been some retcons...take that as you will.

I'm hoping she'll make an adaptation of the special, especially because it would explain these little retcons, kinda like the Trunks special.

Maybe in the final issue a twist or something will happen and conect them... I don't know...

Wouldn't it be funny if Bardock was just dead and this was his purgatory to be haunted by Freeza clones?
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Thanks for the scanlations, while Ooshi's not as good as Toriyama, this is still enjoyable and feels like Dragonball :)
