I will definitely be picking this up, the only DB movie I've seen is DBZ Movie 12, where Gogeta first appears.

No... he said the only Dragon Ball Z movie he saw was movie 12. How was that talking about DBGT?Zestanor wrote:I think he's talking about GT.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:The first and only time that version of Gojita appears.funrush wrote:I will definitely be picking this up, the only DB movie I've seen is DBZ Movie 12, where Gogeta first appears.

Wow... My post makes very little sense now that I look at it. I guess I thought you had told him that that was Gogeta's only appearance, after he seemed to be referencing the fact that Gogeta appeared again (in GT.) What I should have said in response to you was, "Aren't you forgetting GT? Gogeta appears there too." But now I see that you said that movie 12 was the "only time that version of Gojita appears." And I now know that you most certainly did remember that he appears in GT because your statement indirectly says that Gogeta only appears in GT as a form (SSJ4) that he does not take in movie 12. (Man, I'm long-winded.) Sorry 'bout that.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:No... he said the only Dragon Ball Z movie he saw was movie 12. How was that talking about DBGT?
Other than that, I don't think I've commented here yet. While I have never seen the movies and would very much like to, I will not buy any of Funi's non-Dragon Box movie products until they have specifically stated that they will not be releasing Dragon Box movies.

Okay, so if these are just the Steelbooks rolled into fewer, multi-movie'd sets, then wouldn't it make sense to also release the Blu-rays in a similar type of set? I don't know... something smells fishy... Hopefully we'll get some more information on these releases soon.

I'm not gonna lie, the cover art for this thing makes me want to puke. I already have all the steelbooks and will definitely not purchase this. I will wait it out until the Dragon Box: The Movies comes around. But, I am very interested in seeing the rest of the packaging when it comes out and what exactly is on this thing.

Why'd FUNi go through the effort of redrawing all that artwork? (and then not even adding any other movie antagonists in that Lord Slug piece?)
Random curiosity question.

Wouldn't doubt that the cover art is the same as the cover art of the Spanish DVD in the movie boxset that Selecta Vision put out. Puto has it, so maybe he could tell us if this is the case since he did point out that the covers of our DB movie 4 pack had the same cover art as the Spanish DVD's.KiddoCabbusses wrote:Why'd FUNi go through the effort of redrawing all that artwork? While I am obviously disappointed that these are not Dragon Box masters, I will still buy them because I don't yet own the movies. I am betting that this will come as three sets of five with Funimation continuing to treat the TV specials as movies. Their remastering process seems to work well enough for the movies. I am glad that I bought the Special Selection DVD though because this rematering process definitely isn't suited to the specials.
I am still hoping for a domestic Dragon Box: The Movies, but this release gives me even less confidence that such a set will ever be released. If it is I will surely jump on it, but these sets seem cheap enough to justify me buying. If I already had the steelbooks, I definitely wouldn't buy this, but since I don't this will be a nice way to own the films.

I might have been tempted to get this... if there was a Blu-ray version. If not, I'll just hold out for the inevitable Dragon Box.

I could imagine doing this as well, but it could also be treated like Kai; the DBox version will be the premium, the other version will never be too hard to find. If no DBox comes, these are a fantastic fallback.CODii wrote:While I am obviously disappointed that these are not Dragon Box masters, I will still buy them because I don't yet own the movies. I totally understand your stance Fiddlesticks, but I figure that if a DBox release ever does come out, I can sell these on eBay or give them away as presents to friends. I'm going to get them as they come out, and if DBoxes ever do come out, well that will just be a bonus. At this point I just really want to see the movies since I have actually watched very few of them, and seen even less of them in Japanese. Plus as a person who is nearly OCD when it comes to consistency, I can appreciate that they made the packaging to fall in line with the DragonBall movie releases.

Buying them to sell them off later at a price point this low would make sense, particularly since sets this big would hold their value. $30 for five movies and online discounts inevitably bringing them closer to $20? Yes.CODii wrote:I totally understand your stance Fiddlesticks, but I figure that if a DBox release ever does come out, I can sell these on eBay or give them away as presents to friends. The only reason i will be purchasing this is because it includes the cooler movie.
But it's my understanding didn't funimation mess up the audio track for the English version?
The song's would play before they were supposed too? I wonder if they will fix these error's in this set. Because if they don't it's a no buy for me. I'll just stick with the standard DVD
