Honestly, I sort of thought some of the songs in Kenji's score was really good, but as a whole, it was unexceptional compared to Team Faulconer and lacked the consistency of Shunsuke Kikuchi. But it wouldn't have been that bad if it weren't for the repetitive placement, the scandal that gives it an air of phoniness at times, and the fact that it seems to constantly change from extremely awesome (most of the music in the Super Vegeta vs. Perfect Cell fight) to mindblowingly awful (such as the completely innappropriate rock music when Cell was blowing up the police), to average music that puts me to sleep (Piccolo vs. Cell Round 1). Sometimes it doesn't even take a single episode to fluctuate like this, these changes can literally happen from one instant to the next, and it really takes me out of the scene sometimes.
Admittedly, the Team Faulconer score also would take noticeable ups and downs in quality at times (just watch the Garlic Jr. Saga), but it wasn't nearly as often as it was with Kenji's score, and even at it's worst, it was generally much better than Kenji's score, or at least did a better job of setting a consistent atmosphere.
