Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
How interesting. If you go to the 'Read DBM' page and select 'Separated Mode' a bug will list the next chapter in the 'DBMultiverse Tournament' section. Said chapter will be called "Chapter 21: Universe 3: The Saiyans' rebellion". I guess this mean this special chapter will be divided in two, which make sense, as 4 pages each week for 3 months would result in more or less 2 chapters worth of pages.

Based on the art and the length, I think this special will be leagues ahead of the others in terms of quality.Kaboom wrote:Bets on how much of this 3-month-long special will be inane and worthless?
I mean, I'd like to believe that it'll actually be something good, new, and worth reading, but... At this point, such is not the trend.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

I thought that was supposed to be him talking in the first panel. My mind went straight to Randal's fanatasy spot in the Clerks cartoon where Dante is "the biggest idiot ever".
This will never not be my sig:
VegettoEX wrote:"Snoop Lion" is just a character he's playing for his reggae album and documentary. Him saying that it's his new name is all part of the character.
I can't believe this is on-topic.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
i know it contains all the movies and stuff, but the main universe, where the main cast came from, are they from the anime universe? That wouldn't make sense to me, cause the movies are contradicting.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Seeing "Baddack" over and over and over is going to drive me nuts.

Is Broly the only movie that is considered canon within the "mainstream" universe in DBM?

I know Universe 18 had movies 8, 9 and 10 occur, with 8 and 10 having changes to better fit within the series.Nex Carnifex wrote:Is Broly the only movie that is considered canon within the "mainstream" universe in DBM?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
err i never liked the dbz movies, they were always so short while just a little while ago they were taking 100 episodes to take a similarly powered villain down. So even in theory they made little sense.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I know Universe 18 had movies 8, 9 and 10 occur, with 8 and 10 having changes to better fit within the series.Nex Carnifex wrote:Is Broly the only movie that is considered canon within the "mainstream" universe in DBM?

What I find amusing here is that even in a "serious" story, Raditz is still being treated pretty much exactly as he is in DBZ Abridged. It actually makes me feel very bad for him and would have liked to see him survive.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I agree, I think Radditz had potential, not only because he is Goku´s brother, but because of his own personal history. I really liked that "what-if" scenario where he became "good". But I fell like Toriyama could have done so much more with him in the actual manga. I´d love to see him in future anime specials, the fact that he wasnt in the Bardock special is a true shame.TonyTheTiger wrote:Same.Kaboom wrote:Seeing "Baddack" over and over and over is going to drive me nuts.

How else would you translate "Mon père est Baddack, le fort" ?Puto wrote:Baddack the Strong.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'd go with "the Strong one," but then I should amend that statement. This needs better writers.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
You know, I always figured Raditz was average, not a weakling, and that Vegeta and Nappa were just really strong, hence them claiming that they were "Elite".
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
With the whole "shame of the elite" thing, I assume the people making fun of him are other elites.

Not really. But of course everybody has their own opinion.dbgtFO wrote: Is it valid criticism?
He was only as powerful as a Saibamen when he was all grown up and with years of experience. Like DB Abridged said, they could literally "grow" Radditzes. And when he was just a kid, he certainly was much weaker than that.funrush wrote:You know, I always figured Raditz was average, not a weakling, and that Vegeta and Nappa were just really strong, hence them claiming that they were "Elite".
Anyway, even if his adult power is about average for the Saiyans, he probably was much weaker than the average saiyan kid when he was himself a kid, just like Kakarotto was.
Kakarotto/Goku had to go through a lot and train most of his life just to reach a power level of about 500 which he could increase to about 900 on specials attacks. If Radditz was just like Goku, he also had go through a lot just to reach the average Saiyan level.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This comic's been losing me but that bit with Toriyama on page 422-3 was kinda funny.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Wasn't it the opposite? Wasn't he born with a power level of an elite but he didn't develop the way he he was expected to?rereboy wrote: Anyway, even if his adult power is about average for the Saiyans, he probably was much weaker than the average saiyan kid when he was himself a kid, just like Kakarotto was.

Although, I don't remember where I heard that, it could be a random fan thing that just stuck in my mind.
