That's... a dickish reply from a company...!
Anyway, I think it's a little too late for any UK Dragon Ball releases... I'v been buying the Dragon Boxes and we're almost done, so it's kinda pointless for me at this moment.

Wow. That's crazy. They should fire whoever they have tweeting this stuff. It's making the company look bad. I bet if you guys said you'd stop buying their products based on how they talked to fans, they would get a new Twitter person.

Here's the kicker...
...the guy who usually does the tweeting...
...
OWNS THE FUCKING COMPANY.
I'd stop buying their stuff, but they're only releasing stuff like HSOD at the monemt. I'm gonna stick to only buying used copies of their stuff. It's legal, but they still don't get any money

I feel like laughing at them, raging at them, and kicking Filler Dragon in the nuts, hitting that asshole in the head....Am i alone on this one?
Seriously, how omnipotent does he feel that he can give
HIS OWN COMPANY all kinds of bad press and still expect to do well?
I'll be sure to go out of my jolly way to never buy anything that might give a cent to them from now on.

Wasn't there a controversy recently because they were acting cheeking to one of the companies they work for/with?
Oh hey, look at the comments of that blog post.
Hello NorthStarBlog!
Thank you for posting the incident on your blog in it’s entirity. I feel really flipping foolish now and humbled to the core. I personally owe you an apology for insulting you in the way I did on Twitter. You totally did not deserve it. You are right though, I was very flustered and incredibly frustrated with the amount of chatter from our followers indicating their intention to import Redline on BD from Japan. That’s not an excuse for how I behaved though.
The beauty of Twitter and blogging is that for those individuals who behave in an unacceptable way in a public forum there is no way for them to escape their misdeeds. I feek like a complete tool if it is of any consolotion to you.
Thank you for your blog and for your honest appraisal of my bad behaiour.
I really need to distance my comments as @MangaUK from the company. I feel I’ve tainted the brand that many people have worked very hard to build and for that I must apologise to our customers and my colleagues.
I really hope I have learnt my lesson. This isn’t the first time I’ve instigated a flame war on Twitter, but I do hope it will be my last. Compared to the large studio distributors Manga is a minow, and unfortunately from time to time, as the acting head of marketing and acquisitions for MangaUK sometimes take things to heart that I probably should just shrug off.
Thanks again for your excellent blog.
Yours sincerely,
Jerome Mazandarani
Head of Marketing & Acquisitions
Manga Entertainment LTD
At least he knows he's making a great company look like a bunch of dickweeds.

I don't know about that, but read that blog post that Paradox linked. And read the comments left there as well (the last one most of all)
It's mind-blowing.

With Manga I've come to expect to be disapointed.
I've stopped paying attention their panels at cons now because they usually talk a load of shit.
Their party trick is to spend 80% of their panel time blaming us fans for piracy.
The last time I remember them talking about DBZ they spent their time moaning about how Toei animation want too much money for the series. They said they tried to get the movies but Toei wanted them to licence the first 64 or so episodes of Z as well.
I think they said that anyway...
I understand they would be reluctant to do that as Manga arn't a dubbing company anymore and putting out the series sub only would limit sales. Although why they needed to go directly to Toei and not speak to Funi is beyond me.
Can someone who knows more about these practices enlighten me?
I import most of my anime dvds now.
If they did decide to release DBZ I wouldn't buy it I have the Dragonboxes so that's all I want.
For me regrettably it's a case of too little too late.
In response to Ex's post on the main site...Big Green? Oh dear...
They have a similar attitude to people who ask for One Piece.
God I didn't know they released a mono version of the Japanese language track of S2 of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Glad I didn't buy it now...Mono in this day and age?
If only Funimation would sack them and start up their own official European branch.
Beez are still a good company though if you like giant robots.
"HEAD CHA LA!"

I was pretty surprised at seeing that "1 and 1" comment... you can't even claim it's out of context, because there doesn't seem to be any way to take that other than as a completely obnoxious and condescending statement.
But anyway, why not take notice of the fact that they were flooded with excited comments about the possibility of a Dragon Ball release? What is their reasoning behind not releasing it?

The Manga twitter account does have the worst attitude going, constantly blaming fans for not being patient enough to wait for years and years for content that is often flawed/over-priced. They asked on twitter whether people would rather have FullMetal Alcehmist Brotherhood on Blu Ray or DVD, and would they be willing to pay more for it. When they released it, the Blu Ray was far overpriced in my opinion (you could get the imported American Funi version for cheaper!) and then they blamed all the fans for not buying it and cancelled future releases. Very frustrating!
(In contrast, Beez is a much smaller company who treat the fans great and with respect. Yes, they have many problems, but I always believe this is due to their small size and the difficulty in running such a company.)
Manga just need to wake up. Something turns up online that seems to clearly indicate a UK release (I still don't understand the actual reason for it turning up) and they get aggressive with fans for making logical conclusions? They are angry with fans for craving an official release of an anime series that is INCREDIBLY easy to get imported/online/fansubbed?! They should note the demand for the series and do their best to get it and, if they genuinely can't, just say they are sorry and will keep trying. Instead we get bad attitudes, bad releases and uncompetitive prices. And 'we' are to blame for any failure the company faces. Sheesh.

Uh, duh? If the fans expected it to be cheaper than the American import, and didn't buy it because it wasn't, they have no reason to complain. Of course it's going to be more expensive in Europe, and of course a company is going to cancel a release line people aren't buying.

I was kinda happy, that there will be something I can get actually for my region...... but on the other side, why are UK DVD's overpriced over the US ones and in the end, I will pay the same price for both.
It's fuckin' over the La Manche, not an Atlantic for god sake!!!! You can ride it via train without getting wet. My bad, I actually forgot Britan isn't in Europe..........

The funny thing is Manga stopped releasing FMA Brotherhood when they were on the 2nd volume I think, and volume 3 was the last one from the US to be region A+B.

I think 1 and 2 were A+B, and 3-5 were just A.

I noticed the same thing with Brotherhood.... I just figured that they couldn't be bothered altering the region codes or something.
And I thought the first Brotherhood was meant to be A+B... why the heck did my copy show up as requiring Region A?
Also, the UK DVDs are meant to be more expensive? Not at all, from what I've seen... I've been buying stuff off Amazon.co.uk lately, and most of their anime is dirt cheap.
