Funny, I would've expected a lot more killing during Saiyan recess.

Apparently tail-biting is a genetic thing, because Raditz' lil' brother tends to do the same thing in a tight spot!
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Is it that hard just to accept that there must be a mystical backdrop to it all? I mean there already is, we got the Kais and weird shit that governs the universe, but scientifically interbreeding between aliens is utterly incomprehensible in improbability. So I'm just saying that all the races are mystically connected in some way, most of them are just color swaps of humans and/or have the same muscle and body structure anyway. Evolution just doesn't apply to it, so really you cannot take it seriously, and therefore it only makes sense to say all the races originated from something other than what we've observed in real life. Yeah that is what you have to say if you are going to acknowledged the fiction of the series.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:If you agreed, then why are you still continuing on and on about it? It's just a manga, for goodness' sake. It's a science fiction manga with some fantasy that aren't supposed to make sense. Toriyama at first did not think Goku was some kind of a super-powerful alien, but rather a simple human with a tail. Goku and Vegeta are Saiyans which is a humanoid race. They are clearly compatible with the humans. If you ask me what is so illogical, it's a Pokemon game where you can breed different kinds of Pokmon that isn't neccessarily same species.Nex Carnifex wrote:Agreed, but if you were to try to explain were all the humanoid races came from in Dragon Ball, which it was never explained, then to use scientific explanations would be impossible, the only other thing is a mystical explanation.Cipher wrote:On the topic of conversation for the last two posts:
Does everything in Dragon Ball have a fantasy/mystical explanation? No.
Can anything in Dragon Ball actually be explained with anything even vaguely resembling actual science? Hell no, and almost everything in even its most "sci-fi"-heavy portions flies directly in the face of physics, geology, biology and most of the time, logic and common sense.
It's a fantasy world with sci-fi trappings.
Going by the Saiyans/humans, same thing applies to Star Wars. There are many humans that are not only from Coruscant, but from all over the galaxy. They are different races, but are still human beings. Both are sci-fi/fantasy series/movies, and there are many things that are unexplainable mysteries in them. It's not something to be taken seriously.
P.S. This is my 1,000th post
You know if I wanted to take Dragon Ball really seriously I would go out of my way to collect all the obscure merchandise I could like some of you guys, but here I am just trying to make some sense out of the fictional universe because it makes it easier to imagine and enjoy reading about.

There is a mystical backdrop to all fiction because its fake, no dur. Fiction is meant to be enjoyed or ignored like everything else, not thrown into a hard science grater especially when its fiction.Nex Carnifex wrote: Too many quotes.
As for the collecting "obscure" merchandise, that as you said is only a small portion of the dbz fandom and is not confined to this site. Please don't come at me about the negatives of collecting "obscure" db/z/gt merchandise as I don't collect such things nor I do care to hear on your scientific thoughts on the subject.
On Topic: Should have figured that Raditz was at school but I thought Saiyans are sent to planets when they are young with which planet depending on the power level they are born with, unless by the time of this page Raditz had already conquered his.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I do remember Raditz complaining to his new found brother "Kakarotto" that he should have wiped Earth clean of it's inhabitants within only a few years. So it's probable that someone much stronger by that time like Raditz probably wiped his first planet clean while still a toddler. That's assuming Raditz was sent at all since some were considered weak enough to send away while others were raised on their homeworld. We were never quite told in any of the sources if Raditz really was considered "weak" among the rank and file but since he has been described as a "low class" warrior maybe he was sent away as an infant.Saimaroimaru wrote:On Topic: Should have figured that Raditz was at school but I thought Saiyans are sent to planets when they are young with which planet depending on the power level they are born with, unless by the time of this page Raditz had already conquered his.

Are you sure that was also said in the Japanese version? I can't remember anymore... How many people/aliens did Goku bite in total? Frieza is one...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I swear Raditz said he was a first-rate warrior.
I was watching Saban's dub of the 9000 episode and well, one thing they actually fixed was that Nappa said he was the, "second strongest saiyan on planet Vegeta"; not the universe. Totally irrelevant but interesting to note how they kept in mind that Freeza and his henchmen were even stronger.

Yeah you're probably right I am mistaken as I don't own the manga and have not watched that particular episode in the anime for a while now. Only finished watching all my Dragonboxes a few weeks ago, I have one to five of the DBZ sets so far.Son Goshen wrote:Are you sure that was also said in the Japanese version? Yeah he was an indomitable foe until in typical shonen fashion he is defeated and reveals he's only the third ranked guy in the bandAttitudefan wrote:I swear Raditz said he was a first-rate warrior.

No not all fiction has a mystical backdrop since some of it is supposed to follow real life science and rules. Dragon Ball doesn't follow any of those rules pertaining to evolution, nor pertaining to basic logic unless magic was involved in the creation of the species, or at least the origin of them. And note I same 'some' of you guys and never said taking Dragon Ball that seriously was negative.Saimaroimaru wrote:There is a mystical backdrop to all fiction because its fake, no dur. Perhaps in the anime, but I can't recall him saying that in the manga. Either way, it's just a fancy, arrogant way of saying, "I'm a really, really strong fighter!" It's not as if he said he was an elite Saiyan. In fact, Saiyan class systems wasn't even introduced until Vegeta explained it to Goku before their fight (I'm excluding Nappa's previous comment to Goku about being "an elite warrior of the nobility", because it's not exactly specific and, again, could just mean that he's a really, really strong fighter). Before then, it's just that Vegeta and Nappa were way stronger than Raditz, and they didn't give two shits about him because of that, which isn't surprising coming from a race of planet-conquering warriors whose entire lives revolve around battle, murder and power.Attitudefan wrote:I swear Raditz said he was a first-rate warrior.![]()
On-topic, Raditz looks somewhat reminiscent of Goten here. Whether intentional or not, or just the fact that Toriyama tends to draw a lot of characters the same and the Multiverse artist(s) are just following the trend, I think it's nice, since it links in with how, obviously, Raditz's related to Goku and his family. Although I probably would've rather that he looked more like Gohan, just to fit better with Freeza's comment that Gohan resembles Raditz.

When he's in his third form, after recovering from Gohan's attack. He notes how his strength increased after healing and realizes he's a Saiyan. He wonders who's kid he is, and mentions that something about him reminded him of Raditz. In Brightest Day wrote:When was this stated?Piccolo Daimao wrote:On-topic, Raditz looks somewhat reminiscent of Goten here. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well, this manga and any other fan thing shouldn't put Raditz down so much. Goku was a weak laughable saiyan, Raditz was conquering planets. I always thought Nappa was a high class noble warrior, cream of the crop and unusual for most saiyans. Raditz is like a regular mid-class soldier who can boast that he is strong. Goku is a peasant with no status at all. That's how I always perceived the different armour styles; Raditz brown and black for soldier, Nappa (who originally was intended with the same colour palette as Raditz) and then Vegeta is royalty with Yell/gold and white (an this gives reason why he could have been given an orange and green suit by Toie as those could be royalty colours). Makes sense to me.Perhaps in the anime, but I can't recall him saying that in the manga. Before then, it's just that Vegeta and Nappa were way stronger than Raditz, and they didn't give two shits about him because of that, which isn't surprising coming from a race of planet-conquering warriors whose entire lives revolve around battle, murder and power.
So here it goes:
Royalty - Vegeta
High priests & nobles - Nappa
Middle class and knights - Raditz
Peasants- Goku
I used medieval terms to correspond to classes as I have no idea what would seperate each class on Planet Vegeta.
I feel this comic and other fan fictions place Raditz in the wrong class. Honestly, if he was that weak than he would be no use for Freeza and Vegeta and would have been dead long ago.
