Origins and Attack of the Saiyans are both hood games.Vegeta Jr wrote:There hasn't been a single good DBZ game since Burst Limit, the exception is Ultimate Butouden which tragically is Japanese only.
Like Raging Blast, Burst Limit was a bad game riding on the coat tails of their predecessors.Vegeta Jr wrote:There hasn't been a single good DBZ game since Burst Limit, the exception is Ultimate Butouden which tragically is Japanese only.
Once again, this is all opinionated, and it always will be. Personally, I thought drama pieces slowed down combat, infinite ki was a stupid idea, and I didn't like the graphics... liked the effects, and I liked things done with the graphics (Goku's hair finally rising when he powered up to fight Nappa), but the entire presentation of them as a package didn't impress me, they felt too stylized IMO.Vegeta Jr wrote:Burst Limit was great, it gave us Shin Budokai on consoles with the best graphics a DBZ game has ever seen.
It's only shortcomings was it's small roster and lack of Tournament mode.
That's debatable. They're certainly good, but I wouldn't call them "the best".Vegeta Jr wrote:Burst Limit was great, it gave us Shin Budokai on consoles with the best graphics a DBZ game has ever seen.
You say this as if they were insignificant trifles. In a market flooded with Dragon Ball Z fighting games, the full story and some sort of tournament mode are things that I expect as the bare minimum. After completing Z Chronicles (which didn't take very long owing to the omission of the Boo arc) and playing a few rounds of Z Trial, I was finished with the game.Vegeta Jr wrote: It's only shortcomings was it's small roster and lack of Tournament mode.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Hey, I'm not sure if you're still around seeing as this was sorta awhile ago, but I just wanted to inform you that not too far back, probably a year or longer ago, Goku's Corner changed to another site, dragonball.namco.comVashkey wrote: I have to admit though, Namco really did a fantastic job with the community front, which has become a very important part of gaming. Goku's Corner was great..... But I just looked it up and it looks like that site has been closed... I guess that just shows Namco doesn't believe Dragon Ball games are worth the investment anymore.
