I think the lack of marketing and bad word of mouth hurt RB2 the most. Most people skip out on it since they hear it was just another DBZ game with nothing new. I thought RB2 was alright, it was pretty fun for a while until I got bored with it like a month later. Budokai 1-3 and Sparking 1-3 keep me busy and playing for a while until the next game would come out. Both RB1 and RB2 to me got old pretty fast to me. I hope this game will keep me playing for a while.I also believe that the reason why Ragging Blast 2 failed, Was it did not have story. just my opinion

So no GT in the story mode? I take it that Bebi Oozaru Vegeta was just added there for fun and nothing more. Then again, how legit is the official facebook page anyways?

Me too

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Well all of this information is coming from Tony Shoupinou, and he works for Namco Bandai.Hellspawn28 wrote:So no GT in the story mode? I take it that Bebi Oozaru Vegeta was just added there for fun and nothing more. Then again, how legit is the official facebook page anyways?

Yeah, I wasn't talking about getting rid of any particular mode. I'm just talking about the premise of the game and the gameplay.Saimaroimaru wrote:Yeah they tried that no story mode stuff last time, and it blowed up in their faces. I'd like a new experience from Dragon Ball games.
Besides theres Hero mode so its something new.
And if people are just playing Dragon Ball games for the story(whcih they've already seen so many time before) there are at least more appropriate genres that could better handle story telling that fighting games like action adventure or rpg.
Even then though a new story or an alternate story would just be nice to play through instead of going through the Saiyan, android and buu arcs for the one hundredth time. I really don't see how anyone would not be tired of it by now.

Yeah the game itself may have been worked on longer but the CAC was started on after the sales of RB2. That being said I guess despite bring back story mode, they felt something else was missing and that led to CAC and Hero mode.Vashkey wrote:Yeah, I wasn't talking about getting rid of any particular mode. Speaking of Cac and it accompaniment mode, I asked about the 3 character limit and so far its testing the waters and they are still working on the game so no definite stone on the 3 character limit.

This was in Hero Mode, what you should have asked is why putting Goku fighting Janemba.Hellspawn28 wrote:So no GT in the story mode? I take it that Bebi Oozaru Vegeta was just added there for fun and nothing more.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
Before that last trailer, I thought there would be the Hero Mode and 15 giant boss battle with faithful reproduction of the action (as seen with Janemba or Vegeta).
But knowing that we can go through the full story AND with newly animated material for the most memorable scenes, there's no hesitation, I'm buying this game!
I didn't buy Raging Blast 2 because there was no story mode, and the rest of the modes were boring.
In this one, there's like two story modes, one that goes through the regular story but as a whole new visual experience, and the other with likely a new story with a hero of our own for those bored with the fantastic original story of Dragon Ball.
That's the best news there could have been for this game, for years I thought "why don't they just make new animated scenes to explain the story between fights?", but I actually never believed they would really do it!! Slightly enhanced graphics is a good reason to go through the story all over again everytime (whether it's through video games or Kai-like series), cause it's never the same experience when you change even the slightest audio or video thing. But with enhanced new animation, it becomes nothing less than a necessity to relive it all again!
30 minutes, huh? I wonder how many scenes that will make, that'll depend on how many minutes they're willing to spend on one scene and what they consider to be a "cult" scene... It's hard to tell, cause some scenes can actually be displayed with the game's engine as a special move from the fight that you will perform yourself (like the Genki Dama on Freezer as we see in this trailer). Right now, I'm thinking of as potential scenes (though most of them may end up as being just a special move you perform during the fight):
- Gohan rushes on Raditz.
- Piccolo kills Raditz and Goku with the Makanko Sappo.
- Goku beats Nappa with the Kaio-Ken.
- Goku and Vegeta's Kame Hame Ha VS Garlic Ho.
- Vegeta turning Giant Ape (confirmed through trailer).
- Vegeta gets hit by the Genki Dama.
- Ginyu Commando's presentation to Freezer when they arrive.
- Goku arrives on Namek (confirmed through trailer).
- Goku launches a frog to Ginyu's swap beam.
- Freezer gets mad (confirmed through trailer).
- Freezer reaches final form.
- Goku turns into a Super Saiyan (confirmed through trailer).
- Goku's final blow to Freezer before he flies away in the red sky.
- Trunks' transformation into a Super Saiyan.
- Trunks kills Freezer.
- Vegeta becomes a Super Saiyan.
- Vegeta turns into Super Vegeta.
- Gohan turns Super Saiyan 2 (confirmed through trailer).
- Goku sacrifices himself (confirmed through trailer).
- Gohan and Goku's final Kame Hama Ha against Cell.
- Goku turns Super Saiyan 3.
- Gotenks is born.
- Vegetto is born.
- Goku's final Genki Dama.
What about you guys? What do you think might be deemed worthy of getting a newly animated scene? What are the "cult" scenes which have a chance of becoming animated material according to your own expectations?

I just have to say Spike so far looks to be going out with a bang. Though if UT does well, I doubt Namco will let them go.

No not really.

Ah, the Alpha and the Omega. As all life was created from Chaos...so shall it be DESTROYED!!!

If this game didn't have the character creation/Hero Mode and these beautiful cutscenes, I'd probably still be debating. But, it does, so I'm getting it.samuraix123 wrote:So is everyone sold on getting this game?

No, some people are still mad about the changes for the better on gameplay and the limited character creator.samuraix123 wrote:So is everyone sold on getting this game?

Y'know, new animation, free roam story mode and 'Create-a-Character' are all well and good, but if the game play sucks then all of this is useless. Oh, and new screenshots:

Okay thanks, I just asking since most FB pages tend to be fan made. Also love the new screen shots that where posted in the link above. The Planet layouts look really great and this will still be a one day purchase to me.cloud1414 wrote:Well all of this information is coming from Tony Shoupinou, and he works for Namco Bandai.Hellspawn28 wrote:So no GT in the story mode?
