How would you feel if Funi continued Kai?

So lets say Kai is suffeciently successful in the US that Funimation wants to keep it going. I don't know how things really have faired but it's just an interesting scenario I would like to imagine.

So yes, Kai is over and Funimation wants more monies so they decide to maybe remaster the Buu saga, cut out filler and perhaps make a new score(maybe something similar to the rest of Kai).

Lets even say that the quality of these episodes are on par with the rest of Kai. Of course, there would likely be no Japanese track since this is a funimation effort.

How would you feel about this? I'm in no way suggesting this would or should happen but I would just like to hear the opinion on the scenario.

To be honest I probably wouldn't care. I stopped watching way back during Vegeta and Goku's fight during the saiyan saga. But it would be an interesting situation to watch play out and see the reactions from fans. It would be especially interesting if after or during all this Toei itself decided to finish Kai itself.

At this point in the game I highly doubt they would do something like that, FUNimation is probably just going to release whatever's left of Kai, do further re-releases every now and then, and focus primarily on the new DBZ Blu-rays.

Toei has allowed it before with Voltron. Heck they even did that special of both Voltrons together for America.

Why would they do that when Kai uses the Kikuchi score now?

I'd be glad, it sucks that the Buu arc is getting shafted due to fans not purchasing merchandise. It's still part of the manga. I think they should continue it. And overall FUNimation seems to be treating Kai with more care than Toei themselves. So, if Toei gave them the go-ahead I'd be grateful. Besides, I wanna see Gohan call Buu a retard like in the subbed version, that'd be funny to actually hear that in English Dragon Ball, or the Elder Kai getting a nude picture of Bulma for helping Gohan, haha.

I'm okay with Z Kai continuing. Z Kai's a better name. Kai simply means "Revised, redone", could be called "Director's Cut" in this case. And it's still Z especially with the music scandal. I still wish the would of done new animation akin to Ultimate Blast/Tenka'ichi.

Just some food for thought, Funimation now has both 16:9, and 4:3 1080p masters of Z. They have a clean version of the Kikuchi score based off of the 5.1 Dub w/Japanese score option on the Orange Bricks, and they have the materials to edit the series on thanks to the manga. All that's left would be an updated opening animation (to feature Boo), and some new eyecatches. They could even recycle the Dragon Soul and Kokoro no hane. Hmmmm.

Do you mean the orange brick footage? Are we even sure that was properly made into that resolution? Even if it was, why would they use that?

I'm not gonna say it's not possible. After all, Ultimate Muscle was more successful in the US than Japan, and Fox (Or 4Kids?) ordered Toei to make another season for them even after its cancellation in Japan.(And they asked them to not draw any forehead symbols on the characters), and this season was later dubbed in Japanese.

I'm not saying Kai was some sort of prize, but I would be flabbergasted to find a FUNimation!Kai on par with Toei's.
