Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
Can anyone tell me how people on YouTube are able to do this? I've seen numerous videos where people did it with Kai, but how do you do it with the regular DBZ DVD videos? For example, I have DBZ movie 12, remastered with English BGM and Japanese BGM. I saw a guide here on how to remove them from Kai, and on YT (but the YouTuber called Anti Nation specified that he did it only for Kai only and only on a Mac), but I have no idea how to really do it.
Hell, the ability to lower the original music (not get rid of it) while retaining the voices would be nice, yet when I go on GameFAQs or other forums, people either tell me it's impossible, or they theorize what would you have to do (but not in a guide that will help me).

They're red because any spelling or grammar mistakes you've made have been corrected by a moderator.
Anyhow, I'm only familiar with removing the voices in Dragon Ball, not the other way around. Sorry.

Re: Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
Well, I know the ani-nation method seems to invovle using Audacity and turning the center speaker file into an mp3, but here's what I personally do.
I use 2 programs(that work together) to split the 5.1 audio--BeLight and Besweet. You need both, as BeLight is the GUI for Besweet. They're freeware, so just google, and you'll find them easy enough. But you'll need another program, called TSMuxer, to separate the ac-3 file from your rips. Once you do that, you simply put the AC-3 file in Belight and select under Wave format the option to seperate into 6 different mono files. The center channel is the one with the voices, while the others comprise the music and sound effects. The only voices you'll have to worry about being ingrained in the other non-center tracks are character's thinking reverb filter. But yeah, that's my method anyways, as simply put. It allows for a higher quality of uncompressed material to work with, so the final product is much cleaner sounding.
Hope that helps.

Bah, I wish I could have done this immediately, BUT sadly my Movie 12+13 disks crapped out. I had to recieve my money back and I have to wait a week before I can do this method.saiyanprimalforce wrote:Well, I know the ani-nation method seems to invovle using Audacity and turning the center speaker file into an mp3, but here's what I personally do.

But thanks. All I hope is that this method can be used for the Dragonball z/Gt set. Mainly because I've seen a lot of DB Kai episodes with custom BGM, but have yet to see a Dbz video/fight with voices kept in, but the original BGM gone.

Re: Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
That's because AniNation & me post clips with no music and a few others know how to.
And I know FinalBlast92 on his old account had DBZ clips with different music or put DBZ voices in Kai scenes.

I have a different method. It involves Freemake and Sony Vegas if you have both of those (Freemake is well...free.)Silkman3003 wrote:Is the method you use, different from Anti's Nations,ot Sand Saiyans method?SRB2Unleashed wrote:That's because AniNation & me post clips with no music and a few others know how to.

Re: Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
Okay. So while I did get the wrong product in the mail, I decided to test my stuff out. I have the Remastered Dbz Season two collection(or Orange Brick?). Which has 5.1 Audio.
However, I'm having issues. I'll explain what I did. I posted pics so that you can hopefully tell me what I'm doing wrong
1. I ripped my Dvd using using DVD Decryptor. Here is what the Rip has done
http://oi53.tinypic.com/2s7te2t.jpg
http://oi53.tinypic.com/219yn8k.jpg
So then I used Free Maker to convert it to MP4
1. I went to file, add Dvd. And it brought me to this. I went to the converted files, and video TS
http://oi55.tinypic.com/2isa6v5.jpg
And clicked on Title 2, and then this came
http://oi52.tinypic.com/o0qvip.jpg
So then I tried converting it to MP4
http://oi53.tinypic.com/35j9vvd.jpg
And showing it here
http://oi52.tinypic.com/347eblt.jpg
And when I went to Sony Vegas to open it
http://oi55.tinypic.com/6fuw60.jpg
And then the error
http://oi53.tinypic.com/2r39jbc.jpg
So basically, My sony Vegas 10 isn't opening up this Mp4 file. Yet I'm able to play it without trouble. How come?
Edit: I'm going to try it with another disk

I'm not sure O_o but I rip AND convert with Freemake. So if you rip with another program, that might be part of it.

That might have been the issue. Since there is no reason why Sony Vegas shouldnt recognize the file. I did rip it with DVD crypter(or w/e its called ) first so thats likely the mistakeSRB2Unleashed wrote:I'm not sure O_o but I rip AND convert with Freemake. Right now, I'm using this guide to put the DVD into Mp4. IS this what you did?(Video)

I make sure the Audio is AAC 5.1 audio. But besides that, yesh.Silkman3003 wrote:That might have been the issue. Since there is no reason why Sony Vegas shouldnt recognize the file. Re: Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
Holy shit I DID IT! OMG I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT. THANK YOU OMG. I didn't know this would work with the remastered orange box set but you are RIGHT! OMG.
I have the season 2 set , and I managed to get a good fight of Gohan, krillin, and Vegeta vs Recoome.
My only ISSUE is that the sound becomes way to off(later on in the video wen Goku is about to fight recoome, it seems to restart. And the voices go away, ). However, I think this is due to a bad rip,as well as the fact that I didn't rip the whole set in one go.
In either case, thanks! I'l ask you for more help later on if I'm still having the same trouble

Re: Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
Okay, I'm having trouble. SO I did the whole process and part of the video still isn't wokring well.
For example. I have the DBZ remastered season two set. I just converted disc 6 into mp4. The issue however ,is when I bring it to Sony Vegas 10.
While the first part works fine. Everything works smoothly, which makes it easy to get rid of the original BGM.
The issue HOWEVER, is during the later part of the video. The video i have is 1 hour, 30 min long. But once it gets to the one hour, this is what happens
1. The voices of the characters suddenly disappear. Until this happens
2. The video audio seems to restart. So for example. In the beginning of the Dvd, Goku is fighting ginyu. When I skip ahead to 1:00(hour) of the video, is where Ginyu in gokus body meets gohan and krillin. And at this time period, the voices disappear, and then the whole audio switches to the beginning. So basically it has the audio of goku fighting ginyu,(Ie beggining) and yet the video clearly shows "ginyu" talking to gohan and krillin for awhile.
Any idea on what I can do?

Just shorten the clips in Vegas to were its a single 20 minute episode THEN remove the BGM.

Re: Removing BGM + Keeping Voices (Kai & Z-related)
Okay. I went into a few problems. Took me A LOT of trial +error but I finnally managed to do it. I'll explain what happened.
1. Tried seperating them into different parts. IT worked for a good while, but in the middle of the audio clip, the voices would suddenly get off. Now then, I got rid of everything but the Vid+Voice+SFX. So I tried separating the whole part that messed up, and save it under a different name on sony vegas
Didn't work.
2. but one thing I noticed was that when I played the clip from the start , the voices wouldn't go away!. In fact, it was only whe nI skipped ahead on certain parts, would the voices automatically dissapear. But when I played it from the start, the video would work! Do remember I got rid of all the other clips/Bgm so that nothing would happen.
3. This led me to believe it has something to do with the Mp4 file. Probably an error with Sony vegas+The file. So what I did? I rendered the part(20 min) where it starts off good, but when I skip to certain parts, the voices dissapear. I converted it to AVI(though WMV would be fine I guess).
4. Then I opened it in Windows movie maker. And guess what? IT WORKED. If I skipped to a certain part, the voices remained.
Now, I'm currently doing it on a 1:00 clip. In this same clip, it has the same issues. You know, skipping ahead on vegas and you cant hear the voices. But play it from the start, and nothing will happen.
I'll continue to update, but it really does seem to be working
