Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
For those who want to better understand the gameplay, this video does a pretty good job of covering it with what we have been told and are able to determine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-HvBBa7 ... r_embedded
Now that I have a better understanding of the fight system, I actually kind of like the idea behind it. Obviously, at least to me, I think it could use some tweaking all around, but over all it isn't a bad idea. Unless Namdai signs Spike on for another contract though, there won't be any tweaks to the system, so I'll just deal with what I've been given. It isn't as horrible as I once thought...

I don't know. That just seems like a wierd option to have. It's like having the option to have the characters blink. Would you like characters to blink: on/off? It just seems random. Why wouldn't you want a destructable environment?TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I don't see the logic here...what could possibly be wrong with having the option to turn something off? It would be OPTIONAL, you could just keep it on all the time...Drabaz wrote:Are you for real? Why Spike? Why?

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
Why would you even use that as a comparison? Two totally different things...one is almost completely irrelevant to a fighting game (would you really care if they didn't blink?), while the other can affect gameplay. The actual destructive environments don't bother me, but personally, I got tired of sitting through the planet destruction cutscenes after the first couple of times in most of the previous games. I normally pick a map because I want to play on that specific map and reenact a fight, and most of them don't destroy the planet. It really started to feel like it was interrupting the flow of gameplay, and I typically dislike the destroyed Earth maps anyway.Drabaz wrote:I don't know. I'm a little sad that Kageyama won't sing a new song.. Not because I don't like Cha La Head Cha La, but a new song would be better.
Anyway the news is awesome, and the gameplay seems way more better now.
Can't wait!

Since they are ignoring Episode of Bardock, I highly doubt Chilled will be in the game.

Oh it effects gameplay? I'm still thinking back to Budokai 3 where it doesn't. Guess I'm wrong then. I stopped giving Spike my money after Tenkaichi 2 so I havn't been up to date on anything.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Why would you even use that as a comparison? Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
Just noticed, the OVA in Raging Blast 2 lasted 30 miniutes, and the overall animation in Ultimate Blast also lasts 30 miniutes. Could this bring the posibility that in the next PS3/XBox 360 games, we will have 30 miniutes of new animated features? For example, in the next one, we may get Episode of Bardock. I hope this will happen, since now that they did this with 2 games, they would piss off fans.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
Well as some one already stated, Goku was the only character with customizable Ultimates but true enough I guess. I think its silly to have two of the same character that could quiet possibly have the same move set, so I hope they did find a way to combine them.dbgtFO wrote:I don't really know how the system works, but doesn't this game allow you to customize your "super" and "ultimate" attacks like the RB series did(I haven't played RB 1 or 2)?goku the krump dancer wrote:Omfg did they FINALLY combine the two future Trunks?!
If so this could simply be a costumized Future Trunks(w. Sword) and not necessarily an indication of Spike combining the two versions.
Why though? Its still the same character, same with Vegeta and Boo arc Gohan.SRB2Unleashed wrote:I hope not.

The reason they were split into two characters was because of the sword.goku the krump dancer wrote:Well as some one already stated, Goku was the only character with customizable Ultimates but true enough I guess. Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
But now he doesn't even use the sword in normal combat, only in select Supers and the two Ultimates "Sword" Trunks had in previous games. They could just make it where if you have a technique applied to Trunks that requires a sword, then it is added to his costume (didn't Budokai 2 do that?). The created characters have shown off costumes that are very similar to Trunks' outfit, and some have had swords and others haven't...it could be done if they really wanted.ArchedThunder wrote:The reason they were split into two characters was because of the sword.

Because I like using Trunks with a Sword seperately. And yes you can use it at will when pressing O.goku the krump dancer wrote:Why though? Its still the same character, same with Vegeta and Boo arc Gohan.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

No, you can't. Apparently the characters signatures have been removed, so the only time he uses the sword is in the Supers/Ultimates.SRB2Unleashed wrote:Because I like using Trunks with a Sword seperately. And yes you can use it at will when pressing O.

Oh well. Still I remember using his sword in combos in BT3
