Guys. That's the Japanese poster for movie 8. (redrawn obviously)

And I actually like it.

I really like the cover art. They did a great job redrawing it. But I hate that this is beng used for a bundle of 4 different movies.

Anyway...I just noticed that Goku isn't wearing his blue undershirt in this AND the original movie cover art. It looks so wierd and now I can't unsee it

Really? The only character drawn well is Goku and all the others look abysmally bad. I especially dislike that fat Vegeta. I am pretty sure that even I can draw them better. The original art definitely wins.

Yea, really :D. Don't get me wrong, I much prefer the old hand drawn style of the older covers. But this redrawn version looks great. It could have been a lot worse. It could have looked like Vegeta from the DBZ Blu-ray release.

I find it odd that they used bold font for the enemy names in the movie titles except for Bojack...

Maybe there was never a rhyme or reason for the bold font in the first place. :?

I think the artwork looks extremely tacky, but I probably won't pick this release up anyways. The Double/Triple Feature sets are a better looking alternative to own these exact same transfers.

Why does that matter so much?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Cover-art aside (I don't think it's abysmally bad, and I do prefer the redrawn Japanese poster to the "slap stock art on a gray background" style of the double-features), I'll probably be picking this up as well. It's an attractive way to re-own the movies, and I like that they're finally being collected in order and separated by era (with the first set containing all five Freeza-era movies, the second containing the four Cell-era movies, and then the last one with the Buu-era films).

That, and I really like the way the movie remasters came out, so this would probably be my final DVD version of them even over the Dragon Box.

That's always my main concern in a product.

Because that's the part that sticks out while on the shelf. People, people... presentation is everything! :)

I buy a product for the actual content.
And isn't there another side that he can flip around to?

As do I, but I judge a complete package before I decide to smack down some buckaroos (especially when this same exact content has already been released via the Double Features). I'm definitely a little picky about what goes on my DVD/Blu-ray shelf, so I see no reason why the packaging can't be taken into account here.

I display them spine out and the lack of effort looks cheap beside every other release since I have them all.

I really don't have a problem with people having a problem with the cover, but I can't really seem to relate with the whole, "This cover sucks," thing that's been happening nearly every time a new DVD comes out. Maybe some of you guys display your movies like they're on a store shelf or something, but I display all my DVDs and Blu-rays spine outward. If a series has spines that go together to create one big image (like the Dragon Box), then that's a neat bonus. Otherwise, whatever. As long as I can tell what I'm ready to watch, then I'm good to go!

Even though it's the Movie 8 cover, it still looks pretty bad. They could've used the Movie 6 cover, http://www.daizex.com/guides/movie_guide/dbz_m06/ or the Movie 9 cover. http://www.daizex.com/guides/movie_guide/dbz_m09/

It's a shame it's no Dragon Box, but it is a bit interesting I suppose. I have the steelbooks, so maybe I'd like to get them if they decide to do them in Blu-ray some day.
I think I'll be buying assorted Dragon Ball things for the rest of my life.
