It's like he could see... over there (where his compatriots were being out of character some more). Didn't look like the future. Ok... maybe a little.
Also, Selypa's armor isn't colored in. /nitpickgrumblegrumble D:

No. The first panel being all VSSSH is just there to trick you.

The text font is the same as when Bardock had that Psycho Vegetto vision so keep that in mind. Crazy font = future. Seems like the visions might start out as innocent deja vu. A little more subtle than the TV special.

Oh yeah, good eye!

I guess the point of that first "vision" is to reveal to Bardock earlier that the Kanassan gave him powers of clairvoyance. So Bardock returns to his team and overhears them having the exact same conversation.
P.S. Wow Toteppo is really talkative in this special. I mean, I never thought he was mute in the original story but he never said anything whereas Panbukin had several lines of dialogue but in this fan comic has not been featured much.

What's out-of-character? Toma's saying that they should split up because of the numerous towns. A clever idea from a guy who does this for a living. Totapo's saying that they should be in groups of two, just in case an accident happens. It's wise to be cautious on a foreign planet with alien inhabitants that may have strong members, strange abilities or anything they don't know of. And Selypa's just joking around when she accuses Totapo of making an excuse to be alone with her.

You can't keep moving around in tight pants without taking the time to adjust yourself every now and then.

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Shocked Bardock is a pretty sweet reaction shot. Saving that.

It's French for "Huh".
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

So I guess this page we've bypassed poor English and jumped right into no translation period, hein?

"Hein" is meant to be a written sound, in this case a sound of surprise, of not understanding something.
It has no set language.
Using it in a english context is not wrong, its just more common for english speaking people to use "huh" (or something similar) than "hein". That is all there is to it.

If people don't know what it means or why it's there, then yes it is. Language is meant to convey an idea. If the text fails to convey said idea then it isn't doing it's job. I've read comic books for my entire life and never once saw "hein" used in any context of this sort. It's not like it's just obscure. It simply is not used. If "huh?" is a direct English equivalent then there's no reason not to use it.

I more or less agree with you, they should just have used "huh", but I just don't think its wrong per se since its just a written sound, like a sound effect.

Actually, even most sound effect words have different-language based versions, so it's important to get them right.
Ex.:
English - Huh?
German - Häh?
For those who don't understand french, "Hein" doesn't register as an exclamation of surprise.

I know, that is why I more or less agreed with him. Otherwise I wouldn't agree.
I just happen to think that its more of a gray area than most aspects of translation.

Either way, it's lazy and sloppy and yet another example on the massive list of why they need a better English-language editor.

Yes. I think that whoever writes the french dialog also writes the english dialog since they are available for the translators at the same time.
Btw, I'm actually translating the French DBM novel to English. I think I'm doing a pretty decent job. Anyway, when/if it shows up on the website, if you spot any mistakes or whatever, tell me, and if its possible, I'll go back and correct them.
