That's great! Is any other novel to be translated?rereboy wrote:Btw, I'm actually translating the French DBM novel to English. I think I'm doing a pretty decent job. Anyway, when/if it shows up on the website, if you spot any mistakes or whatever, tell me, and if its possible, I'll go back and correct them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Neat fan art group shot of the characters from Dragonball Mulitverse, along with caricatures of some of the folks who work on it. Done in the style of the group shot at the end of the original manga. From Hector and BK-81. Some of the characters I have not seen before.

P.S. Can you spot all the Dragonballs in the picture? By the way, where's Waldo?

Salagir wrote:You've seen on page 430 that we believe Freeza chose to destroy the Saiyans without a need for a particular offence. This is the same as in the TV special.
In Dragon Ball Z episode 78, there is a flash back scene with King Vegeta attacking Freeza. The latter says that this attack was the reason for the planet's destruction (Toei likes to contradict itself).
Also in the manga, Freeza says that he killed King Vegeta himself (volume 25, just before he transforms).
So we made a scene taking the best of all :
- Freeza decide to destroy the planet, then go to it.
- First, King Vegeta comes on his ship, and talks to him very harshly. He is killed.
- Then, Freeza takes the army out, Baddack show off a little, and the army and planet are destroyed by Freeza.

"We are neither his slaves nor his servants"?
Isn't "slave" and "servant" very similar things, though, to the point that saying "we are neither his slaves nor his servants" is pretty redundant?

King Vegeta still has the best design.
I would've had the King say "vassals" instead of servants, but there is enough of a distinction that it's not wrong.
Servants get paid and generally have far more freedom than slaves, but are still subordinate.Piccolo Daimao wrote:"We are neither his slaves nor his servants"?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well I was still hoping we'd get some variety from the actual special that was worthwhile but the quote above from Salagir proves otherwise...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Yeah, I know that, but that's why I said that they were very similar. I just think that there isn't enough of a distinction between the two for him to both mention them in that particular line. He could've used another word other than "slaves" or "servants", or just said, "We are not his slaves/servants!"Rocketman wrote:Servants get paid and generally have far more freedom than slaves, but are still subordinate.Piccolo Daimao wrote:"We are neither his slaves nor his servants"?

But whatever. I'm just nitpicking, I guess.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Is it just me or are Toma and Bardock phasing between eye styles. This is only a small complaint as the illustrator at least doesn't have the same horribly erratic drawing style as seen in the previous pages (426-433).
Could be the person lurking in the shadows maybe?

I don´t think...Immortel has his own history on the novel by Salagir. It would not be original that was it.Shoryuken wrote:Could be the person lurking in the shadows maybe?
I think the shadow of the universe 3 is Piccolo Daimaoh Sr. and the shadow of the universe 5 (XXI) is the enemy locked the Old Kaioh Shin in the Z-Sword.

I would've said "space" or "domain" or "kingdom" instead of "place".
Otherwise, poor King Vegeta. :(

Maybe it was a language difference or something, but...
"SAIYAN'S PRIDE" came off...at least to me, as almost in the same vein of something like "O'DOYLE RULES!"
