My Pikachu looks like a rabid wolverine and keeps biting me in the leg.

Hey, wait a sec...

Hey. I've been making up a backstory for my Pikachu for years, he's like a member of the family. And he's stronger than Goku. Fear him. He'll destroy your crazy regular Tora.

Dai, I'm not so sure that's a pikachu... I'd get some shots, if I were you.

No way! My Tora's claws and skills at using them makes Wolverine's blades look like butterknives! If you don't believe me, watch the Ushio to Tora OAV.

Nope. There be 5 volumes. Of course, that wasn't enough to complete the manga story :( , but it's still one of the best sleeper animes out there! Plus I enjoy listening to Mr. Satan's seiyuu in there. He plays one of the girls' father. He still does those same hilarious noises! :D

I could have rented the first three a year ago (was waiting untill I rented a few others first) and then all of a sudden I find out someone stole the enitre anime section, boxes and all. I both hate and admire that guy for getting all 40+ anime on VHS out of the store without getting noticed.

Okay... I'll look for this Ushio to Tora OAV, even though I won't find it. Allthough, the guy can't best my Pika. NEVAR.

Now, Guyver on the other hand, I've seen a bit of. My Pikachu is stronger than the strongest DBZ/GT character by far. Because I said so. a piracy website.

Ya but my Tora has the "attitude"! And the OAV is actually not that hard to find. ADV just released it in a DVD boxset last year. It's just hard to find to rent. Ya the tapes are also a little harder to find now. Dayspring:Someone stole the entire anime section!? Wow, you do have to admire that guy, although the employees at video stores never pay attention to the anime section anyway. Oh, sorry! I mean "those ultra-violent, really weird cartoons from Japan" waaay over in that no-man's land section at the end of the store. That does remind me though of an even weirder incident at the comics store I go to where they also rent out anime. Someone stole all the empty DVD cases to Trigun! We figured they did it because they're most likely planning to rip the series off the internet, make bootleg copies, and then put them in the cases so they look legit. Then they can sell them for a better price on E-bay and no one will notice they've been duped. But was all that trouble really worth what they'll get for them? Strange people out there. :?

I'm going to rent it, if anything. But right now I've rented the two Evangelion movies. Shinji is really messed up! Woo!

I still have to watch The End, but D+R was great. My brothers are so crazy that they can't watch multiple anime movies in a row, so I had to take a 2 hour break... just 15 more minutes.

No harm in watching D+R first, right? Nobody seems to care that much, but I just used logic that The End is actually last. Well, you know. It's The End. Only reason I'm asking is because, well, the "rebirth" part is focused on The End, right? I guess I'll know for sure in 15 minutes.

Edit: I saw it. They just took the first half hour of The End of Evangelion and called it Rebirth. I shouldn't have bothered to get D+R... it was nothing special.

As for The End itself, it was pretty good. Confusing as hell, but oh well. Considering that it's an alternate ending, I'll just go with the original ending and say that's how it happened.

What about suffixes? Should they keep it as "Kaio-Sama", or translate it? And what would be a good/better translation of that than FUNI's? Lord Kaio, maybe?
I'm no expert on royalty, but I believe that "Lord" is properly attributed to dukes, knights, and other "lower" royal figures. As Kaio-sama is a king, he should either be addressed as "His (Royal) Majesty, Kaio" or, I suppose in first person, "Your Highness" will suffice.

Okay, I'm just being a stinker. Ain't English grand, though?

1/ What exactly do the words souki, dan, genki, and dama mean?
Soukidan is really just one word (I mentioned spacing preferences the other day, and got accused of showing off :?). Sou means wind or turn. Ki most people may know. Dan means bullet or shot. So, "winding ki shot", you could say.
Almost. You're off by one radical in "Sou"-- it's a te-hen, not an ito-hen. "Sou" actually means "manipulate" or "control."
If I had my druthers, I would have called it a "Guided Energy Torpedo" (which is how I translated it for use in Budokai 2, but there was the whole "Spirit Ball" precedent and everything).
TripleRach wrote:Genkidama is just a combination of genki (feeling good, full of life) and tama (ball).

Yeah. "Genki" is a tough one. There's just no good English analogue for it.

Hmm. It wouldn't have surprised me to get this wrong, especially considering I'd typed up that spelling a few years ago, when I knew even less. But then when I went to look up my mistake in the manga, it really does look like an ito.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was a misprint, because the other sou would make a hell of a lot more sense. I know that's the only manga usage of the attack, but I assume it's printed differently in the Daizenshuu, or DBZ Movie 3 anime comic, or wherever else it may be. I wonder if they changed it for the kanzenban...

Well what do you know? Now I have to track it down in the Daizenshu and see how they printed it, like you say.
