I think you could probably say that about Toriyama and Toei themselves. We have four different Gokus alone.
Yeah, a lot of Toriyama's characters look similar to other characters, either in the same work or other works. You could say that he has somewhat limited character designs, but at least they're recognizable.
I think its the eyes. Whenever I see Toriyama's work, the eyes give it away. Maybe that is why I am not diggin Goku's moms look.

I think it's everything. Hair, eyes, clothes, etc.

Nope. Chuck Testa.

Just kidding. As Tony said, I think that it's one of King Vegeta's soldiers, although his hair looks awfully like Goku's SSJ3 hair, and his face like Radditz's...
But then, aside from Bardock and his gang, not many Saiya-jin designs are original most often in fanmangas and fanworks.

Really? The hair usually seems to be a common thread in fan designs of 'Goku's and Raditz's mother'. I also like the single shoulder pauldron look. Yet the face and eyes do seem quite different from Mr. Toriyama's style on both Goku's mom and Selypa while pretty close with the male characters.

Incorporating the flashback from the Broly movie into this huh? This confuses me, as I believed they had a few days before the destruction of Planet Vegeta, but wasn't Broly and Paragus executed just a few mere hours before the planet was destroyed?
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

Well, probably a few days HAVE passed, since they've jumped from Planet Kanassa to Planet Vegeta.

Everyone on the US DBM website are cheering, hoping that Broly will get to fight Freeza. Which, would be pretty awesome if it weren't for the fact that he's a baby.

I rather wouldn't suffer more Broli fanwanking.

Baby DBM Broli is enough to kill Freeza with one finger.

According to the website we're going to get one more Broly special. And it's going to be one of the "everybody dies" specials.

Ugh, I know Gogeta Jr needs a break but enough of these specials already! Heck I am enjoying this one somewhat more than the others but frankly we all want to see more of the main plot than anything else. :?

I really wouldn't mind the specials if they weren't more of the same. I believe it's already been said the Saiyans die here anyway, so what's the danged point of it all? And we have to suffer through another "everybody dies" special after this? Jeez louise.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Its probably about universe 20, where Broly killed them all and then became trapped on ice.

I like where the story is going in this special. I wish it was drawn in the better artwork though. Is the story of this chapter available to read anywhere?

I assumed he was just frozen in ice due to floating in space from the end of the last universe 20 special.
Hey, I entirely forgot I had an account here. AGAIN.

Does anyone know a good translator to read the DBM fanfics?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Google Translate is okay, they screw up a lot though. This is an example of their screw ups: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q_PGJ1x-YU. Nuff' said.

My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Unfortunately that seems to be the case. It says that Broly won the third encounter, presumably by surviving the second fight in U20, and that the special hasn't been made yet.

Other than the obvious problem with the "everybody dies" specials, this one isn't even in the right place. So far the specials have been at least nebulously, if not directly, related to what was happening in DBM at the time. But Broly's relevance ended a loooong time ago. Tossing another Broly special in would be jarring for that reason alone.
