Also, not that weird romanisations in this thing can actually surprise me anymore, but lol "Tsufuls."

Hey, it's better than "Tuffles," at least (usually I don't mind the dub names, but that one just sounds dumb)... though I would prefer something that at least keeps the R from "fruits" rather than randomly changing it to an L.

Wasn't expecting Bardock challenging King Veggie for the throne at all. I figure if they do actually end up fighting it might actually be a decent fight... since I'm pretty sure it was said at some point that Bardock's 10,000-ish power level by the end of the canon Bardock special was in the same range of power as the king's, so at least there won't be a massive power gap.

Yeah, I know. French, Portuguese and Blue Water dub all used Tsufuls, so maybe that's what Toei's scripts had. I dunno. Definitely better than Tuffles, and it's not technically wrong, but misses the pun completely.

I still like "Tsufrians."

Since the Saiyans can't increase or decrease their power levels at will, the winner should be obvious just by using their scouters to read their power levels (unless their numbers are extremely close to each other).

So, even though I initially thought this was a nice twist, ever since that thought ocurred to me, I haven't been excited about it... :|

By the way, "No... it's not the way to go" should read "No... that's not the right method". That's what it says in the original.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

"If I knew it was allowed to challenge Vegeta, I'd have done it long ago!"

So the whole "fight the king to become king" was just something Bardock made up on the spot?

I dunno, seem like Gerkin apparently knew the rule, just didn't want allow for such disrespect to the king. The other guy,...just not in the loop, maybe?

Though, according to all the Saiyan history Herms has compiled (not that we know how much of it Salagir is using), Saiyan royalty was only established after the Tsufruians were defeated...a maximum of 7 years to develop tradition. That's a really long time for a Saiyan brain to remember anything.

Honestly, I like the overall direction the special is going, but the finer details, like this one, of said special are fairly "meh"...

Interestingly enough it would be appear that Gerkin gets his name from a species of cucumber, gherkin. Hanasia on the other hand could to be a strange pun on hana (花, flower).

It does seem like Bardock made it up on the spot but based it on ordinary logic. Vegeta is king because he headed a successful revolt. The Saiyans are a people that respect power and, presumably, the alpha male of whatever group/tribe prior to the current system was the strongest individual. Therefore, if somebody defeats Vegeta they would, in turn, usurp the throne. So even if it's not a written rule it's something that just makes sense. And if only 7 years passed since Vegeta took the throne then it stands that nobody since that time has been stronger than Vegeta, or at least confident in their strength compared to him.

Maybe the guy who said he didn't know he could challenge Vegeta figured that, due to the new political system, simply defeating the current king in battle wouldn't be enough to take control since the people have put so much trust in Vegeta thanks to his successful revolution and bringing his people into the modern world. That seems to be what Gerkin is suggesting. That loyalty to Vegeta is based on more than a mere fight. Bardock seems to be banking on one of two things. Either that's not the case and by winning he will become king and be able to order a rebellion or that even if everybody stays loyal to Vegeta, by winning the fight he can get Vegeta to go along with his plan.

If King Vegeta and Bardock are around equal in strength, it kind of stands to reason that Bardock should come out on top, due to the fact he's likely much more skilled at fighting.

So, Goku's father and Vegeta's father are fighting each other. Epic.

Any chance of an appearance by Tarble in this? Or maybe a mention?

I can see King Vegeta using as a insult, something along the lines that despite Tarble being a the weaker of his two sons or whatever, he is still strong enough to beat Raditz who is the stronger of Bardock's sons.
