Stuff like the dents is exactly why I rarely order from Amazon. I ordered Boxes and 1 and 6 from there and they were both damaged. I ordered 2-5 from RightStuf and had no issues at all.

I can't order from Right Stuff. When I order from them it's a crapshoot as to when I'm actually going to get charged. Amazon is reliable in that regard.

EDIT: Welp, some people wanted screens, so here are some screens. Brightness turned down 10% due to NTSC U and J Differences, but otherwise unmodified.

Free 2-Day shipping still trumps all that for me. Well, I am close to a shipping facility here in Vegas. This maybe why I get everything on release day and dent-free.

...I don't get it. only your version of the shot has the blacks missing like that.... The ones I posted have full blacks....

Sorry, I probably should have clarified. What I did is I highlighted (with white) the areas of your image that were solid black, like in Goku's hair. Since this is from a film source, there really should be no "solid colors." I'm hoping that it was just an error on VLC's part, and that it was not actually encoded with the crushed blacks.

Yeah, it probably wasn't a good idea to mess with the brightness of the caps. Making it darker using an image editing program won't produce the same effects as it would through whatever causes the brightness to chance from NTSC-J to NTSC-NA. Plus, a bunch of other factors and yeah...it's best to leave the caps as-is.

Also, while I know it's a constant problem for the DBOX footage, did the brightness alteration have anything to do with Vegetto being as pink as Majin Boo in one of those screenshots?

Well I'm sure the brightness didn't help at all, but the pink is probably the result of old masters.

DBox 7 is not under review on Amazon anymore so I ordered it... Should arrive in 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my DBox collection doesn't end here, still need the 4th one...

"She"... but yeah it's both, the "Crushed Blacks" were most likely caused by the Brightness change.

I know everyone including the guys at Daizex have talked about the brightness difference, so the only way to make the caps look right is to decrease the volume 10%.

VLC can do that internally, and it also effects how the Caps come out, so that's what I did.

Well, it's best NOT to do it. Just leave the colors as is because the colors will just look unnatural otherwise. They only don't look "correct" in comparison to the JP sets, but the colors in the unaltered screencaps are how the US sets should look like on a computer in the first place.
