Macroblocking on the Cell Games Single DVD's
Macroblocking on the Cell Games Single DVD's
I've heard that macroblocking was especially prevalent on the Cell Games Singles. I myself don't have these DVD's as I stopped collecting the singles in late 2002/early 2003 when funimation decided to concentrate on other series and leave the Cell Games unfinished. I have all the dragon boxes so I have these episodes, but I've heard on various post how much better the picture was during the Cell Game on the Dbox then it was in the singles. Could someone do me a favor and show me how bad the singles got with macroblocking.
Re: Macroblocking on the Cell Games Single DVD's
Dug through the orange brick season 6 thread to see what I could pull up. I have an animated gif comparing the bricks to the single and then to the dragonbox (in that order). Cropped for consistency with the bricks.

Sadly the singles image that was used to comprise this gif has disappeared from photobucket. This is all I could pull up, but you can notice a fair amount.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Re: Macroblocking on the Cell Games Single DVD's
Thanks, but if anyone who has those last few DVD's of the Cell Games from just the single editions could just post some more comparisons or else tell me where I can find those last few cheaply online besides ebay. Also I never realized just how bad Funimation bleached the colors in the Orange Boxes, I mean I knew is was bad, but not that bad.
