There's an insert card in the packaging that contains a bio of Chris Sabat.

I'm a little surprised by that. Even the orange bricks had those little episode guide booklets.

Yeah, I looked at 'em...

I believe that it was stated in the interview.

Its been asked before but no answer so again:
Anyone know if Head Cha-La is the opening for the dub with the Japanese Score?

Not if this video is anything to go by. On the other hand, Kageyama-sama's (yes, I said used the sama honorific because he's that damn good) vocals do sound pretty clean to my ears on the Japanese audio track.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Forgot how generic the FUNimation opening is. Reminds me of some 90s Saved by the Bell clone that goes on for far too long... and doesnt match up at all with the images, causing them to seem completely random.

Although I prefer the Japanese opening, English wise this is much better than Rock the Dragon's Opening. Considering that this one actually uses the DBZ opening.

True, but at least Rock the Dragon as a song matched up to the images it was being played against. Or, more likely, the other way around. This song simply does not make any attempt to fit in any way with the events onscreen.

Rock the Dragon is memorable, at least, considering it's in the same spirit as classic 80s intros by the great Shuki Levy. This is just soulless. Why they won't expend the effort to dub the damn song I'll never know.

Cha-La-Head-Cha-La is a pretty damn nonsensical song once it comes down to it. Believe me, I've tried to come up with a way to adapt it into English without it sounding like a complete retarded mess, but it's pretty much impossible. They'd have to completely change the lyrics, and you know people would bitch about that.

BTW, I think Menza's theme is the best Z theme overall, even better than Faulconer's. Probably the only good thing he did for the dub besides Movies 6 & 7.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

"CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA" is a charming shonen spirit song that builds natural excitement for the show. If you understand the song, you understand the spirit of the show. The replacement openings are a bunch of generic crap that readies you for a generic action show.

There have been some darn good arrangements of the Faulconer DBZ theme that are much better placed in dub scores, which makes it all the weirder that they're based on something so bland.

Remember we are talking about the Blu Ray sets not what we think of the different openings. Back on topic does anyone know what goodies are in the Journey to The West bonus?

Because this is something that no one can ever describe as generic, right?

The....um.....English...opening.....I don't know what the title of it is, or even if it has a title....is not too bad in and of itself. I'm guilty of having it on my iPod. It's actually a really fun tune to play when you're driving down the highway in the summer, windows down and the wind blowing in your face. It's a very fun, "having fun, driving wherever" song.

Having said that, "Cha-La Head Cha-La" is very near and dear to my heart, both as the opening to DBZ and as a song in general. It's easily my favorite opening to any anime, in any language. When Kai's Music Scandal broke, I was partially hoping they'd replace "Dragon Soul" with "Cha-La Head Cha-La."

"Rock The Dragon," though? I won't say anything. It'll just get nasty.

EDIT: Ahh gosh. Sorry. Off-topic. No, I don't know what goodies are in the "Journey To The West" section.

Breaking through the shining clouds, I'm gonna fly away (Fly Away)
Spreading through my body, feel the power run through my soul
Kicked in the face, the Earth is mad to a boiling point (boiling point)
Can't you feel a volcano ready to blow?

If I ever found a dinosaur, in the thawed polar ice
I'd wana train him to ride a ball

CHA-LA, HEAD CHA-LA
No matter, if ever anything should happen
Nothing would stop me now!
CHA-LA, HEAD CHA-LA
Oh my heart just keeps sparking up like a Spirit Bomb
Oh yeah it gets me fired up!
SPARKING!!

CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Got so much space up in my empty head now
I'll fill it all up with dreams
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Smiling away, away today, With an Ultra Z
And an Ai, Ai, Ai, Ai
SPARKING!!

Yeah, that's some impossible stuff there.

Oh, wow. That would be the best English opening ever. I actually felt the shounen spirit with that lyric in my mind.
