... Do people actually have such a hard-on for the series that they listen to obscure songs from it every day?
Oh, you think the Grand Tour is your ally, you merely stepped into the Grand Tour. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t see the Super until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!

...Yes? If they like the music enough to listen to it often, that's their prerogative. They might even like the music more than the show itself; that's how I feel about a few crappy shows with great music. Music is almost an independent product, similar to the video games and toys.Silver Sinspawn wrote:... My playlist consists almost entirely of soundtracks and a lot of them from movies, games or anime I've never touched.
A good song is a good song, that it comes from a series that you like might influence you .
Ironically, a song I listen to a lot is the SSJ 3 theme from the Faulkner Soundtrack, even though I prefer the Kikuchi score and I haven't actually seen that scene where this theme plays.

But do you listen to the songs because you like the music, or because you like the series?

I don't listen to anything I dislike just because it's part of a series I like. Obviously, it suits both my needs, by being good and reminding me of a series I like.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Music. I listen to One Piece music all the time despite barely keeping tabs on it ^__^Silver Sinspawn wrote:But do you listen to the songs because you like the music, or because you like the series?
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

I recently had the urge to listen to the Budokai Tenkaichi 2 soundtrack. I really like how there's such a variety to the musical themes and instruments. And it was done by Yamamoto, if I remember correctly. Kinda sad he got into trouble with the Kai score.

I don't listen to any Dragon Ball music daily, but Unmei no Hi Tamashii tai Tamashii is a favourite song of mine.

I listen to a few tracks from various series that I probably wouldn't like nearly as much if I didn't have that fannish association, but so what? Ultimately, I like something because I find it actively enjoyable. If the reason for that enjoyment is kind of stupid I don't find myself enjoying it much less (aside from maybe a slightly awkward self-awarenessSilver Sinspawn wrote:But do you listen to the songs because you like the music, or because you like the series?

Actaully, I really like Yeah! Break! Care! Break! from Kai! I haven't heard very many times (which is probably why it hasn't gotten old for me yet), but it's really catchy! Especially in Japanese!
