Best Dragonball Z Movie...ever

Post by Chaos Saiyajin » Sun Nov 27, 2005 11:46 pm

Well, since I did a topic on the worst DBZ movie a few weeks ago, I decided I go with which DBZ movie you guys thought was the best! My favorites would have to be Cooler's Revenge, Super Android #13, and Bojack Unbound. I love Cooler's Revenge because I loved the character of Freeza and his family. Cooler is my favorite villian of DBZ.

Super #13 was great because it included some kick ass fight scenes. I loved Vegeta vs. #15 and Trunks vs. #14. Seeing the three SSJs in action was cool as well.

And finally, Bojack Unbound is my absolute favorite because it's all about Gohan! No Goku saving the world! :P I loved Gohan's outfit in this movie as well, and Bojack looked pretty damn cool himself. :)

I think this topic has been done to death, been wished back with the Dragonballs, then died again....

Movie 12 for me. It's funny, full of action, full of baddy cameos (Freeza gets blasted in one hit! W00t!), contains SSJ3 Goku, AND a Vegetto knockoff!

I actually really liked the Bardock special, I like seeing the return of Freeza and his men, not to mention the old group of Saiyans. Plus it was all drawn well, I know all the movies are done by the best artists, but most actual anime episodes which featured Freeza...he wasn't drawn that well. But in the special it's drawn well.

Do special's count? Ok, the best movie... I haven't seen them all, I like the last one, Super Dragonfist.

Personally, I like movie 3 the best out of all of them for some reason. Just seeing Piccolo fighting Goku for just that little bit was indeed quite good. Each fight itself was great, even the final ecspecially. Still to this day, after seeing most other moives except the Trunks special (No idea why I haven't seen this still ><), it's still my number one DBZ movie of all :)

Don't forget Hitler's cameo!

You've never seen the Trunks special? You poor soul. :P Movie 3 was great too. Oh and by the way, Maleko, your avatar is awesome!

No suprise coming from me, I'd have the say the Bardock special as well. bawled the first time I seen it when I downloaded it as an rm fansub years ago. As for the movies, I was always a fan of Tree of Might, Movie 13, and Movie 9 (I think that's the Bojack one?)

I don't know, I didn't care much for the Trunks special. Even thought it was a climatic scene in the Japanese version, Trunks screaming "GOHAN-SAN" like crazy annoyed me a bit. The dub is alright, though.

EDIT: Post 100! :D

It's a tie between movies 3 and 12 for me.

3 was my first exposure to DBZ and always had a special place in my heart. Not to mention that everyone got a chance to fight in this movie, not just Goku.

12 had a few good fights and had some hilarious scenes to boot. ("I'd rather die than do fusion with you!" "But Vegeta, you're already dead.")

For me, it's a three-way-tie between 5, 8, and 12.
They're all about action! 8)

My favourites are the Bardack TV special, The first Cooler one, Janenba's (12) and Hirudegan's (13).

One interesting note about movie 12, in France, all the bits with Hitler were cut.

The original Broly movie was damn impressive the 5 first times I watched it ;) So to me, that's the best movie.

The Bardock Special.

It's such an atypical DB story (I think Toriyama said this himself, he said it's a kind a story he'd never write, which is why he liked it so much), yet it gave the whole Freezer Saga a whole new level of depth (The Trunks Special/Side Story did the same for 2/3 of the Cell Saga), Freeza had never felt so eriee and Bardock is just a totally bad ass character!

If we're talking about movies, then it has to be movie 9, if you can overlook a few things, it can fit into the canon stroyline, and is generally a good watch with good action but most importantly, it had SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan!

Honourable metions: The Trunks Special, movies 6, 8 and 10 for the Gohan-Brolly fight and it's ending.

For me...it would have to be Dead Zone.

Movie 8 is the best for me (Broly: The Ledgendary SSJ). I think Broly was a really cool villain in Movie 8 but was overused & bassically had his reputation killed in Movies 10 & 11. In Movie 8, Broly was an amazing villain, phycotic like Kid Buu, but much cooler looking. Even though the LSSJ thing completely contradicts Toriyama & is simply a USSJ knock-off, I still think it's a fun thing to see & think about as realistic. Goku had some awesome moments in this movie, & I thought the Dub Movie was superb.
