How does Goku really feel about Chi-Chi?

For some reason I got to thinking about this while I lay in bed last night.

Goku is married to her but does he love her?
Personally I don't think he does.
She's a companion and a friend but beyond making Gohan and Goten, lovers? I don't see it myself.

This can actually lead into another question which can apply to Vegeta too.
Are Saiyans even capable of love in the way we humans perceive it?

Anyway what do you guys think?

Well, Vegeta said out loud (at least in the dub) that he became fond of his wife and son, and Goku reasoning with him by using Bulma's name clearly shows that Vegeta has some affection for her..

Goku shows a little affection for Chi-Chi, but it really isn't the husband-wife love =P

The only "true" love that blossomed on the series was Gohan x Videl

I think it was clearly stated that Vegeta loved Bulma (and Trunks). At least compared to other couples.
They were basically the reason he abandoned his fight with Goku, which was supposed to be the most important thing for him.

Goku probably loves Chichi, but is not IN love with her. Arguably, the same thing might apply to Chichi's feelings towards Goku.
They might see eachother as husband/wife , father/mother of my children, but not as man/woman of my life. Goten's existance alone implies that there IS some sort of attraction there, but Goku's personality and how the story never really focused on them as a couple, aside from a few gag scenes, doesn't really help with understanding how these two really see eachother.

I think he does truly love her, AT just didn't want to write romance because he didn't think he could.

I think that despite his naivety he, over some time, came to genuinely care for her romantically and enjoys doing... various things with her and what-not, like any other husband would feel for his wife.

She's just not his top priority.

I believe that Chichi and Goku's relationship reminds of a friends-with-benefits kind of deal. Chichi is madly in love with this jock, but all he does for her is to show some love occasionally and let her cook food and give him sex when he wants it.

Although he did blush when Chi-chi demonstrated affection at the end of DB, though you can argue that both are filler material... I don't remember Goku blushing on the manga.

He got horny -> increased blood flow and heart rate -> blushing.

Yeah, this was in the Imperfect Cell arc when Goku woke up.

It's kinda cool that she is strong enough to lift Goku up as we see in the second panel. Think of what possibilities that would give us when it comes to the bed. I bet that's why Goku kept her around.

Looking at their battle, Goku is not much taller than Chi-chi (around 10cm) so yeah she is lifting him.
