More strange Japanese DBZ memes

I don't really like memes, but a while ago I made a thread about a Youtube trend I found too strange to ignore: their obsession with "What if Broly was (something)?" videos. http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopi ... =6&t=16488

Since then, I've also run across lots and lots of autotuned Broly videos, videos mixing syllables from the first Broly movie into other dialogue, etc. Just run a search for his name in Japanese and you can find it all.

But even more strangely, it seems to have spun into its own separate trend. Nearly every Broly meme video involves the two-note music cue played when blows up Planet Shamo. I noticed it was always written out as "デデーン" (dedehn) in the comments, which I thought was funny, so I ran a search for that.

Sure enough, the "デデーン" music cue is its own separate thing, and there are plenty of videos dedicated to it on its own: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ky6m0HxEv0 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqsaxkZre0Q

Has anyone else found strange things like this that just don't translate well across cultures? Can any Japanese fan explain what exactly is up with this?

Pretty much. Speaking of Gutsman's Ass, I decided to take the original video and replace every Gutsman music cue with デデーン.
