Are you trying to mimic Akira Toriyama's style to the 'T'?

Are you trying to create your own rendition to the style?

Either way,

Not a big deal with this image, however you should work on pinpointing your light source in order to implement shade upon the right areas, as tiny sections of this particular image is a little ambiguous. Furthermore, work on the positioning of the subject within the frame. For instance, by cropping out the hands of the subject, the image is now awkward in it's presentation, and it implies that you withhold a certain inability or aversion in your skill.

Realistically, though. Goku and Goten share the exact same hairstyle, so presumably Goten's SSj2 would probably look like Goku's.

So, Gohaz. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what you've tossed up. In fact, you should toss up more. The thing about drawing is, whether you're new to it or just out of practice, it becomes easier and more fluid the more times you do it. The only person you should compare yourself to is... well, yourself. ^_^

Also, I'm a sucker for Gohan. Do more of that, plz. ;p

Goten's a cute kid no matter what, of course. But oddly, I actually like the basic sketch a lot more. I'm not sure why, but somehow it seems to have lost just a touch of its charm in the transition... as though there were something just the slightest bit off.

I blame the method of transference. If I had a tablet, this wouldn't be an issue-- what I draw would simply be what appears, and I could simply color it in. Instead I have to trace over the sketch with my laptop touchpad, like so...



And then refine the lines so that they don't look squiggly. And when I do that, I think I slightly alter the drawing somehow. With a tablet, I could skip this step, but alas...

Then again, perhaps I'm just crazy. I've never really met a sane artist, after all.
