Yeah, I too hope their fight will be in Round 2, but then again we will have a loooong time to wait, and if they'll fight Cell Jr. and Beezelbub, I don't think we will see many things from them.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

If the Super Namek beat Buu then it's probably unlikely Daimao will stand a chance. Building him up as this shadowy figure only to have him lose his first match sounds like a waste to me. And if Cell Jr. and Beezelbub fight each other then we'll be getting a pretty pointless final match in round 2. Cell Jr. is probably a wasted slot to begin with. I would have much prefered U9 Trunks.

Maybe this is the Universe where on Earth, Daimao beat Goku?

Daimao is U3 like Bardock. Goku apparently stays on Vegeta, at least for the time he would have otherwise gone to Earth. I imagine the lack of Goku could somehow lead to Daimao taking over the planet. Although there is the little quirk that it was Goku's presence that led to Daimao's release in the first place.

Well, we don't know until the special. Maybe Daimao was released by someone else at a different time.

I haven't weighed in on the last special like I had been before, but I for one...well, there it is.

I mean, I didn't hate it, and it was a LOT better than the previous specials had been, but I expected a lot more from it, especially with the massive page count. Really disappointed that it didn't answer as much for that universe, but I'd imagine that means we're going to have a few more U3 specials down the line.

Really, REALLY excited now that this is returning to the main story though. I've been enjoying some of the main story of this thing more than I have official manga, like Naruto as of late.

Hmm, I'm not as excited as I thought I would be. Piccolo Daimao is cool but I'm not exactly his biggest fan. I'm not to crazy over the super Namek either. Don't get me wrong, they're both great characters but it doesn't matter to me who wins.

One of the things that kept me from Multiverse for so long was "Saiyans, Saiyans everywhere!" so I'm really looking forward to this.

This, but more indifference. I don't really like any of the Namekians, except for (sometimes) Piccolo Jr. Dende's kind of cool, I guess.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Well the storyline is dragging on a little too long but actually I am glad to see the likes of Big Gre. . . err "Nameless" Super Namek have more of a central role. Hopefully we will find out his name soon! I can safely say I am a fan of the Namekians despite being cannon fodder for intergalactic tyrants. Go Team Piccolo! 8)

I've been enjoying some of the main story of this thing more than I have official manga, like Naruto as of late.
well Narutos been at its most enjoyable for a while now, with the relevation of Madara.
IMO Daimao doesnt have to be from U3, nor does he have to be super weak. but i dont want him to fight namekian. it would be like broly vs goten. lesser version vs real thing.
And don't forget, once Super Namekian wins, we should get a break then..Nappa vs Freeza!
Simian upstart...none surpass me. No one even comes close! BURN THIS INTO YOUR MIND! I am emperor of the universe. The likes of you are only fit to grovel at my feet. Or better still...to be crushed...LIKE AN INSECT AT THE WHIM OF YOUR MASTER!

I'm hoping they take full advantage of the next break (dinner? night?). Take an entire chapter if they want. The interaction among the characters from the different universes is most interesting to me. And seeing them able to take a breather and actually converse would be something.

This looks frickin' awesome, but the downside is: One of these Namekians will lose. I want both of them to advance!
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

But he IS from U3. In the main site, it has all fighters and spectators, and Daimao is nowhere. And the only fighters that remain are Hyper Namek, Cell Jr., Beezelbub and the Shadow Man, who seems to be Piccolo Daimao. As for his strenght, I think he will somehow be a lot stronger than before. To be treated with such a mysterious way, he must be special.
