So as we've announced on the podcast a couple times now, a group of us will be heading down to Anime USA in Arlington, VA from November 18th-20th. We will be on staff in their version of the "VAT" (Video Art Track), and providing several hours worth of programming content. Hurray!
The main attraction for this particular crowd will likely be our 90-minute version of "10 Things You Didn't Know About DragonBall", a panel we (Mike/Meri/Heath) debuted back at Otakon 2010 (and is viewable in its near-entirety right here on the site). There will be updated topics, new topics, and so on and so forth. Wonderful things. Great times.
In addition to that, I will be doing a showcase of Japanese video game openings, Meri will be doing a showcase of shoujo AMVs, Jeff (of "_____ Review of Awesomness" fame via our podcast) will be doing an advanced video/audio editing panel... and a whole bunch of other stuff here and there. Lots of AMV-related things like the contest, Iron Editor, blarghahoopalagoo.
Right now there aren't a whole lot of interesting guests announced, but more and more (particularly of the Japanese variety) get announced closer to the actual convention date (which... is admittedly coming up quite soon). But hey, regardless of actual guests worth checking out... umm... we'll... be there... I guess...?
Anyone else coming down? Or up? Or over to? Depending on where you live? And stuff?

Re: Anime USA 2011
Anime USA is in VA? One hour from where I live? Wow had no idea. That kinda sucks. I might swing by if I can find somebody to go with who's willing to pay the $58 charge. I wish I knew about it in April when it was $38 lol.
And hey congrats on actually getting to be part of the staff at this convention.

Re: Anime USA 2011
Our "AMV Theater" schedule is officially up, so here's what you can look forward to from various Daizenshuu EX-related folks:
(Japanese) Video Game Openings (Friday, 5:30 pm; Mike)
A giant block of some of the best (and possibly worst ^_~) video game openings Japan has to offer. Everything from the NES through today is included, so you can expect a wide range of awesomeness. Yes, I have a DBZ opening in there. Yes, I also have Fighters Megamix. You're welcome.
Shoujo AMV Showcase (Friday, 11:30 pm; Meri)
A giant block of the best AMVs set to shoujo series. Not only are they all great, but they're all so sparkly and pretty! Sure, you've got your Sailormoon and your Utena, but you've also got some other goodies in there.
10 Things You Didn't Know About DragonBall (Saturday, 10 am; Mike + Meri)
An updated reprise of our panel from Otakon 2010 has great stuff to check out! Even if you are an avid reader of the site and listener of the podcast, you'll likely learn some new stuff. We'll be checking out some different name puns and the same hilarious look at #17's odd energy donation, but we'll also be looking at some of the "Proto-DB" works Toriyama authored, as well as some "Journey to the West" inspirations... complete with video clips!
Motion Graphics & Special FX (Saturday, 5:30 pm; Jeff)
Amazing Keynote presentation. Motion graphics. Special effects. Typography. Particles. Make things look pretty. Learn from the hero guy.
There's tons of other great stuff in there like Iron Editor and the AMV contest. We'll be there all weekend!

The DB panel was awesome, and I'm glad I got a chance to meet you! I'm looking forward to tracking down a copy of the version of Journey to the West that you recommended.
