So all the US Dragonboxes finally came out recently. This allowed me to make an AMV with consistent video quality

. If you've heard Taio Cruz's Dynamite song, you're probably already as sick of it as I am! But I found the song to be very fitting for Dragonball. So here's my attempt at it. Sadly I feel like this is as good as I can do with my editing skills. I can't do all the fancy effects you see in other videos. So any constructive critisism is greatly appreciated!
DBZ - Dynamite [4:3 STANDARD]
Please choose 480p quality
DBZ - Dynamite [16:9 WIDESCREEN]
I just have this 16:9 stretched version for the annoying people on youtube that complain about it not filling the entire screen.

Wow, awsome AMV! One of the best I've seen!

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I never thought I'd ever see anyone use that song, but you did, and you made it work magnificently. Great job.

I don't think there are words from someone who can't really judge AMVs; lip-synching, selective blurring, excellent cuts, epic footage pun. It wasn't just well arranged footage, it was actually synched.

I don't see a lot of that.

I wasn't sure at the start, but the song ended up working really well, and it turned out to be an awesome AMV! I think the part that worked the best was the Super Genki Dama scene, that was really amazingly edited, and I loved that you included clips of all the old characters raising their hands.
Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

I never thought I would ever enjoy that song. Well I thoroughly enjoyed it watching that video. Great job!
Edit: Added to favorites!

Not to mention, the widescreen doesn't even look that bad. It's just stretched, not cropped.

That part of the video was the very first thing I worked on for this project. I knew it would fit perfectly!

I edited that part before DBox 7 came out using the DVD singles. Then by the time Volume 7 came out I had the rest of the AMV pretty much finished, so all I had to do was re-edit the Super Genki Dama scene again. That's when I noticed how significantly better the video quality was on the Dragonboxes

For an AMV using an overrated and overplayed pop song that I never really liked or cared about in the first place, works surprisingly very well! Good editing, good pace, good selection of scenes, nothing to really complain about except that I don't really see the point of uploading a widescreen version (a ratings mess IMHO) but other words great job!
