TeeFury is a web site that prints a single t-shirt design every day. It's made available for purchase only on that day for $10. Most designs are pop culture-related, a few of them are completely original. This will be the second Dragon Ball design ever printed on the site, it will only be available this November 24th. Mark November 24th on your calendar so you won't miss it! Show your support for the series so they'll print more designs! Prove that this franchise is still just as relevant as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter etc.
I liked the last Dragon Ball-related design TeeFury printed but this is even better! I know not everyone here is down with the name, "Nimbus," but TeeKetch at least maintained the original name in Japanese! Nice touch!
I posed this question in the last TeeFury thread but was ignored:
Kuwabara wrote:This opens the flood gates to so many different possibilites... Could this spark a huge new trend on the site in general? Will TeeFury's more "seasoned" talent like
WinterArtwork,
Captain Ribman,
Matt Dearden, or
zerobriant step up to the plate and draw up some Dragon Ball designs?
Will it lead to a design on par with
this level of artistry later down the road? Will this give other anime series an equal chance of being printed? Some other shirts, such as a
Studio Ghibli design and another fairly innocuous anime girl design have been printed before, but this is still relatively new territory for the site. What does the future have in store?
So many exciting things to think about... I'm really curious to hear from everyone here how they perceive this development on a social level. Is this a step in the right direction as far as Dragon Ball becoming less "stigmatized" and more palatable to the mainstream in general? I've seen plenty of official DBZ tees in my day, and most of them look dreadfully gaudy and the people wearing them seem to be (sometimes unfairly) stereotyped a lot in general.... Could stuff like this ending up on "trendy" sites like TeeFury help change that?

Wow, I love that shirt, and only $10? Wow. Now I get the Nimbus thing, but is this shirt supposed to allude to something else? It sort of seems like one of those things, but I can't figure it out. Of course, I could be over thinking this and it's just a Nimbus shirt.

I believe it's based on one of the Canadian Nike logos? I could be wrong. The reference is totally moot to me, I personally just think it's a wonderful design and I especially love the shirt color they chose!

Awesome. I've been waiting for this shirt. It's apparently based on a Canadian airline.
Here's the thread on TeeFury the creator made for this shirt. By the way, where did you find out this shirt was being released?

Yes, I'm also curious as to how you view the shirts that they are going to release. I just bought the Donnie Darko one that they have today, but I probably would have missed it if I hadn't remembered that they have a new shirt everyday.

Man I get paid this Friday
I'll think about it. I want to be buried in this shirt
Edit - How do I get to the Dragonball Shirt?(Air Nimbus) What do I click?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

TeeKetch made another thread where he disclosed the release date, but I think it may have been deleted? I'm 99.9% sure it's still being released on the 24th though.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Just ordered two.
I love this shirt. It's a nice, subtle way of showing my geek-ness.

Hey, just a heads up! The shirt's gonna be gone an hour from now, so don't miss it! I almost forgot to order mine, eheheheh...
I'm a little disappointed to see that this one hasn't sold quite as well as the Senzu Energy Bean shirt from August did, but it's not too late; perhaps you guys can make all the difference!

Decided to pass on this one. While I really like the concepts, I really dislike the quality of the shirts from this site.

Wasn't Majin Pooh from Toyble's AF? In his working possible ending.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
