Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Tue Nov 22, 2005 11:14 pm

Only two left...I was gonna be a real bastard and buy all that was left but they wouldn't let me. I wanted to sell them on Ebay for a "Buy it now" of like $10.00

Was about to buy when I saw the shipping charge. A dollar more than the game? WTF? :x

Is this game really worth it? One of my friends has it and it looks pretty good. What's the battle system of it like anyway?

Battle System is like a more refined card system seen in the old RPG's of Dragon Ball. Enjoyed it quite a bit, though a fight takes a looong time. If you're stuck at a fight, you might be stuck for hours, just playing the same fight over and over and over again.

At least, that's what happened to me when fighting Cell >.<

Cards, eh? The only game for my GBC that I use cards in is Pokemon Card Game. :D Man is that game ancient! Thanks for the info Ash, I may consider going to Gamespot and buying it!

It works pretty much like a real CCG, just more complicated. Before battle, you prepare a deck for each playable character (or you make one which is shared by all characters, I forgot. Haven't played it in a while). A battle consists of alternating attack and defense phases, where your opponent attacks while you defend, and vice versa. During the attack phase, after drawing a card, you either attack your opponent with a physical or ki card, or alter your stats with a support card. During the defense phase, you defend against the possibly upcoming attack, move to a different area of the field (defferent areas decide attack and defense mulipliers against physical and ki attacks), or use a support card. Each character also has the ability to "power up", granting unlimited access to certain cards chosen before battle (ideally powerful character-specific cards). Both cards and the power-up move is paid for with points ammassed by using certain cards (one which you have an unlimited amount of, others which must be including in your deck, although you don't pay points for using them).

It's pretty much like that, though I'm sure I forgot some elements in there. The system is pretty complicated, and often boils down to using powerful attacks while hoping your opponent doesn't block them with a good defense card.

Thats odd...I just bought the last two...hah.

Well, actually, my mom bought them for my little sister to give to me and my brother for Christmas. I loved the game when I borrowed it from my friend a few years ago.
