Well, not every single fan is as loyal as you and others... but well, it's a 17-years-old opinion, you should know better, since you are an older hardcore fan.VegettoEX wrote:What exactly are you basing that assumption on?DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Totally agree with you. 'Cuz, ya' know, we waited from 1997 to 2001 and it was pretty fuckin' awesome.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I actually agree with you above, and Anonymous; but who even said they wanted to wait 3 years for the game to come out? I said that if they started with a good solid foundation, and builded up every year in each game slowly, by 3 years we'd have a game which could have content appealing to the roster-count fans. No one said anything about waiting 3 years.

DBZ fans are usually the most vocal about their concerns, and love to get into the nitty gritty, if the DaizEX podcast is any indication.DonieZ wrote:You're being too close-minded. I'm not saying they should go out of their way to actually try and make other people aware and want it, I'm simply saying that if by the game is released, and many other people have taken an interest, then their interest and opinion is much more valuable than just any random fan who would buy the game however it is, because they are being honest and unblinded by fanboy instinct.
Lets use the Tenkaichi/Sparking series as an example of what I mean. And why do you think a game which has quality that shines to even non-fans would have "2 half-assed sequels"?
1st - alright, but has some serious issues.
2nd - improved, but still some problems.
3rd - great game, does just about everything right.
Little changes from sequel to sequel. Its the same game each time, just better than the last. The 3rd game on its own is amazing, but why couldnt we get that amazing game first?
We had to wait for those "slight" improvements to build up until we had a solid game. Thats the problem here; casual gamers might try the first game, think its "just ok" and skip the sequels.
But we'd still have the wait 3 years for that 3rd good game to get released after the first two.I actually agree with you above, and Anonymous; but who even said they wanted to wait 3 years for the game to come out? I doubt there is a single fan of Dragon Ball that only likes the series for the video games. If someone were to stop caring about a series just because there was a year without a game being released, I wouldn't consider them a fan.

Dragon ball's world is full of vast and creative creatures and funny characters, so the only logical way to go is create an open world and create a Action based rpg! Or even something like tales of for the combat system.

I don't think you get exactly what I'm saying. I'm not asking for the same process that Spike have been doing for the time they have been creating DBZ games. This is how Spike make their games; they aim to include as many character's as possible and they build the gameplay around the amount of character's. The reason why Spike nearly always have "half-assed sequels" is because they make their games like this. This isn't what I'm asking, not at all, in fact the opposite. These games are one-year developed, so you're gonna have to sacrifice something, either the roster/+content, or the actual gameplay experience. The smartest decision is to make the first game have amazing gameplay even if it doesn't have 2 million character's, gameplay that could make the player think and feel "Damn do I want to play the sequel" for all the additional features and content it would have. I'm not sure why you don't get this.
Btw, not everyone thinks that BT3 is a "great game, that does just about everything right". Some people (mainly DB fans who are also hardcore fighting game fans) really hate it. So then they've waited for 3 years only to get something they still don't like. Why? Because they gameplay was centred around how many character's the game had...

I doubt the fandom will be bored with out any new video games. I can live out a new game and there is still stuff in the series to keep it alive out games. We have sites like this to talk about other things in the series other video game.Totally agree with you. Even people that visit sites like DaizEX, they will get bored after waiting for 3 years. The video games keep the franchise alive, I believe.

Even before Ultimate Tenkaichi it looked bad already now that's out, there's a bit less, but still a game that was pre-boring to look/play.Hellspawn28 wrote:I doubt the fandom will be bored with out any new video games.
Graphics: Great!
Music: Very good (as international replacement goes)
Cutscenes: Very good too (but it missed out a lot of scenes from the DBZ series)
Story: Good (it tries to stay faithful but with that annoying 9000 meme crap and no DB and GT's story being a text board + a final fight it didn't really help the game at all)
Characters list: Enough (64-ish characters is decent, fans/gamers can't expect a marvelous DBZ when it's a yearly type of game)
Gameplay: Disappointing (rock-paper-scissor type and the gameplay is basically the same for all, the opponent doesn't even move, even though he sees the attack incoming in his direction like in the previous DBZ games)
DBZ:UT - 3.5/5
I expected DBZ:UT to be better than the early gameplay videos but was ashamed to see it was exactly like that.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
