It'll be released. I just got the annual Playstation Holiday Catalog in the mail and under the Greatest Hits section it lists Budokai 3 with the new cover image and mentions the Japanese language track. The game page on the Playstation website also has the new cover image.

I have it. I bought it today at a Wal-Mart. It's got the new cover, and the back of the box says "Includes Japanese Voice Cast". Inside the instruction booklet it says "To switch voices to Japanese, change the voice setting in the sound submenu of the options menu"
However no such option exists. All of the option menus are exactly the same as the previous version. Also, it corrupts B3 data that you have from the previous version. I tried to load my old save and it corrupted it and now it won't load with my old version either.
On top of all of this, neither Goku nor Piccolo have their European Collector's Edition skins. Future Trunks wasn't unlocked by default but I'd imagine he doesn't have his either.
At best all of the extra content has to be unlocked somehow and the only problem with this version is the data corruption for old Budokai 3 save data.
At worst Atari pulled a "Resident Evil: Director's Cut" on us and ended up giving us the exact same game twice.

What about hitting "New Game" with saved content instead, can't it import the original Budokai 3's data that way? Also, did you try unlocking the extra skins through the Dragon Arena passwords for the alternate skins like you were supposed to, do Pan/Kami/Kaio's mouths flap on the menus, and do character expressions change in DU? Concerning the Japanese VAs option, I've heard that's an "unlockable option", meaning it must be unlocked in this release before being able to use it.Orochi_Rockman wrote:I have it. Hey Orochi, check out some posts under DBZ Budokai 3 at gamespot. A person also said that he got the game from Wal-mart, and said that he got screwed. Passwords don't work, no costumes, no voices. He had recently got off the phone with Atari and guess what? They don't have the Greatest Hits version in there system yet! I haven't read the whole discussion, but for those of you who are interested, here's the link.

I really have to wonder how many people are buying the old Limited Edition version:

... which came out when the game first came out back in November 2004. This is *not* the same as the new Greatest Hits version, which is due out on December 14th (ships the 13th, in stores the 14th).

Very puzzling... perhaps everything must be unlocked. Let us scour the sites for information regarding this.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Its been solved (for now) :p. Thanks to Oblivion_Awaits, we found out both the Wal-Mart GH copy and the original copy are the same. So sadly, no extras (for now). The only thing to do now is to wait till the schedualed release date then check the game from there. Check the topic for the info.
P.S. I'm a Gamefaqs guy myself :p.

How does this guy get away with a 85 x 85 av? And Mike spotted my original 80 x 81 Dominator av easily!Orochi_Rockman wrote:"It Shows..."
What the hell kind of comment is that? God, you're just as bad as those at GameFaqs that harbor unjust prejudice against those that joined via GameSpot.
Sorry for being off-topic.

Well it might have been an accident. Remember what happened with the Director's Cut of Resident Evil for the PSOne? There was misunderstanding on the Capcom USA end and they ended up cutting everything out of the D.C. that they were supposed to leave in.
Has anyone gotten a Non-Walmart version of the GH and confirmed the extra voices/costumes?

Now that's disheartening. Atari has some 'splainin' to do.
