James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

The period of time I'd love to see some stories about is between the 23rd Budokai and the arrival of Raditz. I'd love to see more from that period, but I doubt it's ever going to happen. Other one would obviously be after the appearance of Uub.

No news as to if they're going to stream Episode of Bardock like they did the Ossu special in 2008?
On hiatus.

Will I be able to watch it even though I live in America? also Kei What do you mean Japan time? What time will it air?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I mean JST, 9 hours earlier than Universal Time. I don't know exactly when they release it. You'll be able to watch it, too, I guess.samuraix123 wrote:Will I be able to watch it even though I live in America? also Kei What do you mean Japan time? What time will it air?

So won't that technically be sometime in the next 24 hours or so? It's already about 2AM on the 19th in Japan after all...
BTW, am I the only one that link doesn't work for? Or is it just not up because the video isn't currently streaming? Because all I get is an "Cannot find webpage error".

I get a 404 when I try to visit the site on my iPhone, but on a normal browser it's there. Maybe it's just up and down, too...?

Well, doesn't that just suck. I've tried multiple browsers, but the Bandai Channel site just wont load for me. Guess I definitely won't be watching...VegettoEX wrote:I get a 404 when I try to visit the site on my iPhone, but on a normal browser it's there. Maybe it's just up and down, too...?

I looked through Twitter and many people say that the animation in the final showdown looked awesome. Personally I'm mostly concerned about the score, though. I've seen no one mentioning it yet, but it'd likely to be a new one composed by Hiroshi Takaki.
I guess it'll be available in the morning or around the noon.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:So won't that technically be sometime in the next 24 hours or so? It's already about 2AM on the 19th in Japan after all...
Re: Episode of Bardock: Giant On-Going Manga + Anime Discuss
Really hoping this is true. Whenever I hear about a new DB animation being done, my greatest concern is Toei.I looked through Twitter and many people say that the animation in the final showdown looked awesome. .

Oh god, I hope this is viewable in America. Hopefully my library won't block this...

I can access the site with the cached version on Chrome, but nothing else works there (links, images, etc.). Anyone have suggestions? I've cleared my cache, cookies, etc. already...
Re: Episode of Bardock: Giant On-Going Manga + Anime Discuss
Great animation? Awesome! I hope Tate, Nakatsuru, Hisada (unlikely), Kanno, and some other Toei aces got to do key animation for it.
Re: Episode of Bardock: Giant On-Going Manga + Anime Discuss
I'm trying to download videos from Bandai Channel with RTMPDump to prepare for this one, but it's not working. I guess I've got to find another way (is it okay to say something like this here?)
One of them says it was Onishi Ryo's style.JulieYBM wrote:Great animation? Awesome! I hope Tate, Nakatsuru, Hisada (unlikely), Kanno, and some other Toei aces got to do key animation for it.
