Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut Ed."?
I know they showed it on Toonami but with the DVD's being canceled did they finish up to where Ocean left off? I don't remember.

CN did in fact air all the way up to ep. ... 66 or so in Ultimate Uncut form. Once.
Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut e
Yup, they showed all of them. They didn't even censor the naughty language in the Namek episodes.

Yes, they did air the whole thing. Such an unwatchable dub. The dire music, the Richie Rich Cadbury voice for Zarbon, Sabat sounding like he was just a guy screaming in a booth etc etc just ruined it for me.
Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut E
Wasn't that because they just moved their airings to like 10 at night or something?jjgp1112 wrote:They didn't even censor the naughty language in the Namek episodes.
If you're not here soon... GET ON!
Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut E
They had it on right before Adult Swim started.
It was completely uncut and uncensored, I clearly remember watching Recoome give Goku the middle finger and Krillin calling Vegeta a bastard.

Didn't the CN version have Vic Mignogna as Burter?

Actually, I emailed him about this once. It was indeed him voicing Burta for the TV airings.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:Nope, Vic only voiced him in Kai.Pokewhiz7 wrote:Didn't the CN version have Vic Mignogna as Burter?

Vic played Burter BEFORE Kai?

I seem to recall it sounding like Vic on the TV airings too, but I'm not sure. I know he's stated he recorded Burter for that though, so maybe it was a case of being recorded then being replaced? Like how Bailey had recorded Dende during the Cell Games when we first got to that in the dub, but then Delgadillo came back in and recorded instead.

Vic wasn't available to redub Burter in episode 68, so Chris Sabat dubbed over his stuff on season 2 to be consistent.Gonstead wrote:Vic played Burter BEFORE Kai?

Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut E
Why couldn't they just wait for Mignogna to come back then have him dub over Sabat's stuff?
There's a vid somewhere on YT of him at a convention mentioning playing Butta (this was long before the Kai dub was even announced). Though nobody (that we know of) recorded these UUC episodes. Perhaps we could ask Vic Mignogna if he has any of the recordings himself?Gonstead wrote:Vic played Burter BEFORE Kai?

Way before the orange bricks, you used to easily be able to find clips of VHS recordings of the UUE dub back around 2006. It was the only way to see the Namek episodes with this dub at the time. This was of course in the early days of Youtube and those videos are long since gone now. I'm sure somebody still has tapes. I'd like to see a clip of Vic's Burta myself. That's interesting to know. Can't imagine why they would get Chris Sabat to re-re-record the lines since even when the 1999 dubbed episodes start on "Season" 3's DVD with Chris' 1999 recordings of Jeice intact, Burta's lines were still redone by Chris.

Did they broadcast all the title cards in the UUE format (that red screen with "ドラゴンボールZ")? I'd like to see some unreleased ones.

Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut E
Chris Sabat didn't play Burter in the original dub of Season 3. He was originally played by Mark Britten, who left Funimation around 2001. So when it came time to redub Season 2 they cast Vic in the role just for the UUE episodes Burter appeared in. Then when the Orange Bricks came out Vic couldn't make it to redub Season 3 so Funi just got Sabat, who at that point had played Burter in all of his video game appearances, to redub over both Mark Britten and Vic. That way the character would have a consistant voice throughout.Levlik wrote:Way before the orange bricks, you used to easily be able to find clips of VHS recordings of the UUE dub back around 2006. Are you guys sure??? I never seen Vic as Burter ever before Kai! It was Sabat since Budokai 1.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada
Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut E
It probably did, since I know for a fact they used the flashing red UUE intro. I'm interested in this as well, but more interested in Vic's Butta.kei17 wrote:Did they broadcast all the title cards in the UUE format (that red screen with "ドラゴンボールZ")? I'd like to see some unreleased ones.
