The new intro and endings which borrow from the original Japanese intros were instroduced in the Majin Buu Saga episodes right after the Other World Tournament.

Everything before that was Rock The Dragon.
^ This is the way I remember it. Faulconer opening music came in for the Garlic Jr Saga. Bruce had recorded his version(Bud Guin on guitar) early on in the Frieza Saga...Funi and him went back and forth on it for a while. Then it just sat there collecting dust until we started the next season. I remember when it finally was used on TV I was thinking, "Wow it's about time. Now maybe we won't get blamed for 'Rock the Dragon' anymore." People on the web really hated that intro back then...and yeah since it was paired up with our stuff in the episodes, people assumed we..err...Bruce... had written\recorded it.

Oh and for the licensing\copyright stuff...I can only speak for the Faulconer music, which I had always understood to have been purchased completely by Funimation, morale rights and all. Buuuuuttt, after GT was pulled from Bruce, he went ape *^*t and sued Funi...which didn't really work out for either side...who knows....
