If this was fan-made, it's damn-impressive. I can definitely get used to watching DBZKAI if it was animated like this.

There are still people on this forum who don't know about Ultimate Tenkaichi?
These are the cutscenes from that game.

There are people on this forum that didn't know Ultimate Tenkaichi used animated cutscenes instead of the CG approach that the games usually take.Metalwario64 wrote:There are still people on this forum who don't know about Ultimate Tenkaichi?

I don't care though, if Kai was like this I'd love it. It actually looks pretty cool if you ask me.

Funimation or whoever was behind those scenes that were in Ultimate Tenkaichi did a really bad job syncing their mouths. And I know it wasn't the up-loader's fault because I've owned the game
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I don't know whether to laugh or pity the youtube comments for their lack of knowledge about these being Ultimate Tenkaichi cutscenes.

Toei Animation animated the cutscenes (Funimation only license and distributes) and video games don't really are about syncing the voice with the mouth movement. The directors only really care about how accurate the dialogue is to the original.samuraix123 wrote:Funimation or whoever was behind those scenes that were in Ultimate Tenkaichi did a really bad job syncing their mouths. On topic, I wish Kai WAS like this! I expected it to be totally reanimated in this style.

Re: Wait, So Was Kai Expected to Be Like THIS?
Yeah....That's part of the reason why I don't pay any attention to what anyone says on there
I've had people tell me that Akira Toriyama says this and says that but when you ask for proof they never get it for you. That's why I roll with people from Daizenshuu EX. they know their stuff
But to get back on topic. I much prefer the older animation. But I do wish that KAI was like this.

If Kai was like this I wouldn't want to deal with the bad lip-syncing.
So mondo lame.

Am I the only one who doesn't like this artstyle? IMO, the colors really seem too shiny and bright, and the characters don't seem as properly proportioned as they did in the cartoon.

Re: Wait, So Was Kai Expected to Be Like THIS?
I would've loved it if Kai was like this. What would be really cool would be if Toei went and redid Kai like this, maybe an episode every 2 or 3 weeks, considering it will take them a lot longer to make. Not only that, but Toei could actually make it even faster-paced than Kai and eliminate all of the filler (Gregory, Ginyu-Bulma, Mr. Satan's apprentices.), making it really a perfect adaptation of the manga if they did it right. They had the chance to do this with Kai and they missed it. It's be cool if they could do it right.
Also, I find the lip-syncing terribly hilarious. Look at Piccolo say the simple word "run" and compare it with his lips.

Yep, it would be awesome! Toei had their chance with Kai. But now, I don't want a 3rd DBZ anime release.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I would love to see the show redone like this.
Edit:
God damn is that scene with Krillin dying way better with this animation!
