Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This is one of my favorite pages yet, though the art in the last two panels seems a little off. I want more than this obviously, but I'm pretty satisfied with just that huge panel at the top of everyone bickering over food.

I want to know what happened to everybody in U7. You would think that when Gast is born Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan would already be on their way, if not actually there already.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
...I had not thought of that for some reason. Hmm...maybe they're able to get their wishes without a problem (or unable to if the Dragon Balls disappear with the mergure of Gast come to think of it), and thus they're much too weak when the Androids appear on Earth.TonyTheTiger wrote:I want to know what happened to everybody in U7. Actually, that would fit maybe. The Androids win without problem, Cell is able to absorb them easily, and then when he's destroyed the Earth and is cruising space, he eventually gets to Namek and Gast stops him.

I really hope we get some plot, but knowing Salagir, Frieza will turn up on Namek, all the Nameks merge together, kill him and then the next pages are just Super Namek going on numerous kill sprees (I'd love to be proven wrong though). The art looks nice, at least.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Am I the only one that would rather not have new pages as often instead of getting another "special" chapter after one of two short fights?
I want to know what happened in those other universes too, but I'd rather have both Gogeta Jr and Salagir take care of it. The could still call them Special chapters, semi-separate from the on-going plot.....but they'd be good. (And maybe we wouldn't end up with the odd case of character that looks nothing like a Dragon Ball character nor has a name that follows a well estabilished naming scheme, that they try to pass off as the main character's mom...)
So far, story-wise, only the Bardock chapter had an interesting plot out of all those "special" chapters.

I guess the cover is promising. The coloring is pretty bad, though.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Bad color and awful nose. At least I hope it will have good story.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The cover was already on the artist before it was uploaded on the site, so I already knew what the page will look like. Looking forward to the special chapter nevertheless.

Great art, wonder when this universe branches off from U18? Hopefuly we get some detail on that, not "Freeza's here", fuse and Gast takes on Freeza, Cell and Buu.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Some questionable translation aside (I'm used to it by this point sadly), I like this page. The art looks really good to me, the shading is nice, and it seems like the story will actually be GOING somewhere maybe. I probably shouldn't get my hopes up but this may be the best special yet...not that that's saying a lot.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I get the feeling it has already branched off. Bulma and the gang arrive on Namek, can't detect the Dragon Balls, and there is a "great power"? Seems to me that Gast was already formed to deal with the threat of Freeza, and the Dragon Balls are now inert...The Jackal wrote:Great art, wonder when this universe branches off from U18? "Why did you came out right away?!"
"We search the Dragon Balls now!"
Oh look, awfully-translated dialogue! Didn't see that one coming!

This translation is godawful, wow.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't like to bash, but come on. I actually had to read some of the panels several times before I managed to make sense out of the terrible translation.
The art's fine, though.

Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.

I'm just gonna ignore the terrible translation and say that so far, the story and the art is pretty promising.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
That may just be bad dialogue. All of it kinda felt awkward.
It's not Toriyama's style but it doesn't feel too alienating like that other special about vegetto was.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I hope we actually get to see the all Namekians fuse (even in flashback), otherwise it will be very disappointing if Gast already defeated Freeza and the like.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Bulma and the gang arrive on Namek, can't detect the Dragon Balls, and there is a "great power"?
