This reminds me of the time my friend (American) told me about how he was teaching some kids in Japan and he asked them if they knew the alphabet song. They said yes and went through it a,b,c...x,y,zed. So he says something like
"WRONG! wrong, wrong, wrong, where was your last teacher from?"
kids: "....England"
"Hes Wrong!, it's Zee... Zee, Zee, Zee, silly kids and your Zed"
But then he tells him he was joking and explained the difference to them.

In England we pronounce the letter Z as 'zed', but for Dragonball Z we pronounce it as 'zee' as the Americans do, it just sounds right. Although if I were to refer to the show as 'DBZ' I would then say the Z as zed.

Same here in Canada... though many Canadians say "Zee" for some unknown reason.

Reminds me of times when I was playing some Halo 3 on Xbox live and people would question where I was from because of my accent.

Lol, I remember being around a person from New Zealand in my international summer camp when I was 14 and to me, it sounds pretty damn close to a British accent without being a British accent, if that makes any sense. I guess it's easy for us Americans to identity a British or Canadian accent but not ones from Australia or New Zealand.

Yeah, we used to have a sort of posh English accent back in the day but ever since then we've moved on and formed our own little accent we've claimed as our own.

If you watch some New Zealand content(Black Sheep, Flight of the Concorde's, Lord of The Rings) you can definitely pick up on the differences between the British and the Kiwi accent.

Australians are easy, notice that ''a'', reading space like spiece for example, or baby like baeiby.
That's how I always recognize them.

I am from Canada and when saying Z I will pronounce it "Zed" but with Dragon Ball Z I always call it "Dragon Ball Zee."

Same here. I never pronounce "Z" as "zee" unless it is the actual pronunciation for what it is used in. Basically, I wouldn't call "ZZ Top" "Zed Zed Top" and with DBZ it is always pronounced "zee" not only in the song (which, two me, sounds like two constipated guys trying to sing nonsense about DBZ) but in the dialogue within the show.

But, it's true, Canada retains more of the British English composition than the United States does (colour, humour, honour, cheque, etc.) but the slang is notably more similar to American slang.

That reminds me of a Lorne Elliot joke I heard a number of years ago where he and an American friend would poke fun at each others country, specifically with the alphabet, basically:

Well, for me it's always been "Zeta" in Spanish, and something like "Zet" in English (like in the song We Gotta Power), which comes from the Japanese "Zetto". I haven't really watched much in English dub, mostly because I hate the music and the voices xD. So it wasn't until I started listening to the podcasts in Daizex a few months ago that I heard the american "Zee". Plus I learned English in school the british way
