Well, this release appears to be defective beyond Walmart, I'll not be purchasing it. I went 6 long months to get 100% in Budokai 3, there's no way on this Earth I'll do that again just for the Japanese cover-art and a probable possibility that the Japanese VAs can be unlocked. I don't know why Atari just didn't 'port the EU "Collectors' Edition" to the GH release where capsules could be imported from the original Budokai 3, the Japanese VAs were as clearly optionly selectable there as in Budokai Tenkaichi, and everything else (except the extra Baba movies) extra from the Japanese version was available. Instead, Atari gives us a release where we forcefully have to start from scratch, perhaps nothing extra from the Japanese version is included, and worst; no optional Japanese VAs. Oh well, that's Atari for ya'.
On a side-note, to the person I was gonna give my copy of the original Budokai 3 to, I apologize but as it turns out, I no longer have any need for getting the GH release, thus I'll be holding onto the copy I was gonna send you. Sorry if that dissapoints you, but hey, at least I wasn't charging you anything.

Thought I'd add my two cents, I bought the game today only to discover, you guessed it, the same exact problem everyone else seems to be describing. This is pretty sad on Atari's part, I'm assuming they're going to offer a disc replacement deal or something in the near future, as not doing so would leave them in a less than enviable position, legally speaking.
Anyhow, I may try and call Atari in the A.M., see what sort of response I get. I'll post here if I have time before I head to work.

Well, I agree with you on that issue, but don't you think they should at least show a slightest bit of effort on correcting this mistake?Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Well to be honest, if I were them my first priority wouldn't be about a game that was already released a year ago.

Sure, but there is one teensy little problem. According to the tracking number, my copy from the Z Store was delivered. Problem is I had it shipped to my address at school and right now I'm at home. I'll try to get it when I go back on Wednesday for a final. I'll let you know that night unless someone beats me to it.Tekkaman Gamma51 wrote:Thanks Slickmasterfunk, keep us posted as well.

Good luck with your final. I'm dying to find out how this turns out because that could mean trouble for Atari if it comes back as a dud. I mean they could get slapped with false advertising if they don't make an announcement about this soon. This could get interesting, folks . . .Slickmasterfunk wrote:Sure, but there is one teensy little problem. According to the tracking number, my copy from the Z Store was delivered. Haha, yeah wouldn't it be funny if the Daizenshuu EX Discussion Board filed a lawsuit against Atari fir this? Seriously though if they don't address the problem within the next few weeks or months something should definitely be done.t-bone135 wrote:Good luck with your final. I just got off the phone with them again. >_< They still didnt get the game in yet and probably wont get it until after Christmas. They claim they have a lot of orders to fill for Christmas via the company. >_< I even asked them why dont they just buy it from Best Buy, or Wal-Mart. The reason is because Atari doesnt rein burs there employees for doing so. I agree btw. If something isnt done by 2006, Atari may be facing big trouble.

I don't think they'll actually be in financial trouble (after all, they didn't put a hidden sex mini-game into Budokai 3), but I do know there will be a lot of irrate customers they have to handle.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Well, it's just the forum administrator who doesn't technically work for Atari, but I guess he's closer to them than any of us and it also sounds like he's making some sort of progress.Tekkaman Gamma51 wrote:IMPORTANT !!!

Also, I'll grab my copy of the game from the Z store tomorrow and report back here with any news.
EDIT: I got my copy that I ordered from the Z Store today. Sadly I report no Japanese dialogue and no extra character skins. The passwords do not work. Also, my 100% save from the original release of the game loaded up just fine and still no extras, so it's pretty obvious that the original game was re-manufactured instead of the new one.

Also, the Atari forum administrator posted that the Japanese VA option isn't supposed to be unlockable, meaning anyone with the Greatest Hits release should get it right off the bat. Well, I'm guessing this means Atari has false advertised. They better seriously do something about this soon, some official announcement, pull the Greatest Hits releases off the shelf, something. I'd say they may be in some trouble if this issue isn't addressed soon, considering they have "Japanese VAs option" branded right there on the Greatest Hits case, inside the manual booklet, and on just about any online description for the release. Ironic, DBZ's Atari's biggest cash cow, yet they screw up big time on one of its releases, go figure. As said before, I sure as hell am not buying this, I'll stick with my original release.Slickmasterfunk wrote:I got my copy that I ordered from the Z Store today.
