I'm also liking the artwork a lot as well. I can't believe the people in the comment page are saying that DBM is worst then GT?

The artwork in this special is defenetally worst than GT. As for the story of this chapter, we must see it untill the end.

Yeah bulma's face made me cringe. But that brownish tint and his stunning backgrounds make up for it, Namek and that spacepod are drawn beautifully here.

But at least bulma has looked consistently creepy. XD

Wait, so I'm not the only one who sees what looks like a stain going down the center of the page? Thank gosh, I thought I was having a Hikaru no Go moment. But yeah, both the story and the art in this chapter is great so far, it already surpasses the Bardock chapter for me.

I think they do that because they know how much Salagir hates GT.

Bulma's mouth on that page really does seem off. Too bad, everything else is actually pretty good.

But yeah, I think the artwork has been pretty good so far and of a consistent quality, better than previous specials. The story looks quite promising too. The only small complaint I have is that there's been one or two off-looking faces (mainly from Bulma), but the art style, backgrounds, inking, sepia-tinted tone and shading are good enough that it vastly overshadows that.

Not that many people at the Japan Expo? I thought it is the biggest anime/manga/japan pop culture convention in Europe?

My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

It's a common practice at conventions. Fanart and fancomics are accepted because the idea comes from Japan and if the artists and publishing companies themselves don't have a problem with it, I don't see why not. As far as I know, the Comiket was made for this type of work and if I'm not mistaken, some of the most famous mangaka today started out as doujishi artsists.

Like Kiyohiko Azuma? If you've read Azumanga Daioh or Yotsuba&!, you'll never believe they were from the same guy who started as a hentai manga artist.

(Side Note: The Wiki says Kiyohiko Azuma made a Dragon Ball dojinshi!)
