Episode #0286! VegettoEX and Julian check in on the two major cover songs from 2011 (a version of "We Gotta Power!" by Tokyo Future Boys and a version of "Boku-tachi wa Tenshi Datta" by Sasaki Sayaka with a little help from Hironobu Kageyama). Do either of them stand up to some of the other great cover songs we have had in recent years, or are they both just a little too safe? A little bit of DBGT follow-up and the mass delusional cover-ups of the Dragon World human race round out the episode. Referenced sites:
Short one, but good stuff! Enjoy!

Re: Episode #0286 (22 January 2012)
Liked the "Angels" cover, not so much We gotta Power. But then I do like Angels a lot more overall. When you got the video game e-mail, I was curious if you'd bring up that Wii versions of the Sparking games have suddenly gotten rarer (Read: pricier) Stateside. It looks like it didn't matter since you didn't want to recommend multiple Spike games.
Also, I'd make a joke about "surprise birthday podcast" (Today is mine), but then I see the front page's Podcast Icon says the 22nd, and the music file the 21st. Kind of like certain tournaments. I'll stop now.

Still want you guys to cover Animetal USA's cover of Makufushigi Adventure on the show.
Julian did name drop the original band in the podcast.
As for Ultimate Butouden, I imported a copy and had no problem going through it.

I didn't like the cover of "We Gotta Power". It sounded... strange and the voice seemed whiny and tired. Great episode, once again!
