What is your favourite game track and why?
Any Dragonball related game, any single track.
For me it's Embrace the Blue Sky from Budokai 3 (I think it's in the previous Budokai games but cannot remember where).
It just feels so adventurous and happy, however it has a kind of meloncholic feel to it which gives it some depth. For example I could see it used both when someone is flying around Earth with no care in the world but also reminiscing someone's death like when they try and bring Goku back after the Cell games.

As for why, I guess it's probably because it didn't have the jazzy feeling that a lot of the other tracks in that game had. As a big Faulconer fan, it felt like the closest thing stylistically to the Faulconer music that I'd hear in the games (until popping in Legacy of Goku 2, Buu's Fury, and at least 1 other GBA game actually arranged Faulconer tracks for their scores).

Budokai: The Man Called "C"
Budokai 1 was my very first DBZ related game years ago, so not only is this track nostalgic but it's just awesome.

Dragon Ball Z Legends - Fear
Back in the mid 90s, while I was discovering anime with the help of foreign magazines, I was lucky enough to pick the imported DBZ Legends for the Sega Saturn.
Its music to this day, is more connected to Dragon Ball Z than the actual soundtrack in my mind.
Bad memory banks? Who cares, I love that soundtrack and especially the track "Fear" after 1:40.
I really wish there would be an anime release without BGM so I could actually edit and replace it with Legends' OST.

Its a toss up between Evolution from Sparking Meteor (US Version) and the Big Gete Star theme from SSW2.

Having to pick just one is pretty tough for me. Hell I'd literally have trouble picking one song from Budokai Tenkaichi 2's English soundtrack alone. I find Dragon Ball game OST's are all pretty solid dating back to the Famicom days. I enjoy
Assault! The Saiyan's Boss Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt6YoHpp ... re=related
just as much as I do
Raging Blast 2 Solder's Sorrow

Say what you want about the games themselves but I feel the music is pretty much always really enjoyable.

Sky Battle Budokai 3. It gets me hype, I play on the Cell games map just for the song. I really bumped this old thread...

That track sounds an awful lot like News of The Cell Games.xzero wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=468yUWZr_qU

That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

@Gonstead
Not surprising considering Yamamoto composed both of those tracks and he also drew inspiration from "A Man called C" in another Kai track IIRC.
The Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi games are the only DB games, I've had more than a slight interest in and BT 2's soundtrack just sucks IMHO. Since I haven't played BT 3 and BT 1 just contains tracks from the Budokai games, it's not surprising that my favourite track comes from one of the Budokai games.
It's Flight in the Dark Side, which was heard in Vegeta's story mode early on IIRC, probably because you were playing with the main villain and in Broly's story mode.
It just fits so good(flying around as the bad guy
Flight in the Dark Side) and I really like these kinds of evil tracks, that give the idea of ruthless villains who wholeheartedly embraces that ruthlessness as being part of them.

1) Burst Limit: http://youtu.be/zgriel8HGUA
2) Raging Blast: http://youtu.be/ZVzjgN9wdiY
3) Dragon Ball Z 1: http://youtu.be/DxzMI7JGkk0
4) Ultimate Blast International: http://youtu.be/Zhd8F47Rtbc
5) Sparking Meteor International: http://youtu.be/TaZAqIQ30H4
All these tracks are great n' all, but I'd much prefer the Japanese soundtrack (Shunsuke Kikuchi and may also feature Kenji Yamamoto BGMs) than the international's,

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128
