Anyone Have Path to Power Screenshots?

Post by Chaos Saiyajin » Tue Dec 20, 2005 11:28 am

I really don't know if a topic like this allowed, but if it isn't, Gomen Nasai.

Anyway, I've been looking all over the 'net for some screenshots from the Dragonball 10th Anniversary Special (Path to Power) and I've yet been able to find any. The reason I want them is to see if I really like GT animation for Dragonball, and it would deeply influence me buying the movie or not. 8) Thanks in advance!

I think if you just go out and get the movie that you'd enjoy it. It really is very good. Better yet if you don't have any of the Dragon Ball movies, go out and get the new box set from Overstock.com. It'll be the best $18 you ever spend.

Here's my recommendation. Go and get the movie. It's got gorgeous animation, beautiful music, and it's a great re-telling of the beginning of Dragonball. You won't feel like you wasted your money. 8)

B-kun: "What?"

This is Path to Power, or DB movie 4. This movie is worth watching too, you should pick it up, it's like watching Dragonball in GT style animation, well worth watching, gasp at these.

Although it's definately an awesome movie, I'm a little baffled at the changes done to Red, Black and Metallic. o_o

 After looking at the screenshots, I though Black had gotten a hell of a lot buffer. Then I figured out it was Metallic...Blue looks weird too, and why is Red's hair brown? His name is Red, ya know... :?

It's tough to convey how I felt about the animation in this movie. I guess the best way I can put it is that I felt it lacked the "character" of the older animation style (but as a note I was never a fan of the GT style).

Me too, in a way, there's something about DBZ's animation that I like for some reason, even if each episode of Z were to be re-made in this new style of animation, I wouldn't be anymore amazed than when I first viewed it 1980's style. Which is why I haven't even watched all of Path to Power, I only saw the first part, up to where Buruma's pant come off, then I couldn't be bothered with it. The DVD is just waiting to be watched.

where Buruma's pant come off,
 I'm definatley buying this movie... I think it'd be great to see DB and DBZ redone in this style, I really like what they've done with Bulma's hair, purple all the way! :P

That's uh...how it was in the Manga.

I think there is a lot of room for improvment, animation wise, for DB and DBZ so I wouldn't mind seeing it done on that graphic level, so long as...well, I won't get into it.

Just so some of you know (those who haven't seen the movie), there's particularly a lot of Bulma fan service. >_>;

She goes through different outfits like crazy and has a bunch of panty shots all over the place. o_o

:P Sweet! I really can't wait to see this movie now! Although there's a lot of Goku nude as well, right? I swear he's naked in every volume of Dragonball but 2! C'mon, Toriyama-sensei! Does Dragonball have to be the manga with the most male nudity?

I believe the only nude Goku shot in the movie is when he attacks the giant fish at the start... Other than that the movie is weenie free. Of course it's been a while since I've watched my copy... But I'm 99.99% sure I'm right here...

 So they cut out the part where Bulma gives Goku a bath? I've never seen the original episode either, but I know in the manga, Bulma gave Goku a bath because he smelled really bad. So, was the whole Bulma/Goku bath scene in the original anime? :P

Well, yes, the part where Goku is bathed by Bulma is in the anime, just not in Path to Power, they couldn't show everything. And I wouldn't say they cut it out either, because they didn't show it in the movie at all, so it just wasn't present.

And yea, I haven't seen all of the movie, but I don't think they show Goku's dick again, just at the start. It's not as if there is detail or anything, just two 'U's or something. Heh heh, I actually find it funny.
